Welcome to the 15th annual Interact Charity Fashion Show, “Axiom 2014”!

This production is organized by a committee of 34student leaders with 80 additional students involvedin the actual performance. We are pleased that you can share this night with us!

The Interact committee is pleased to donate this year’s proceeds to the Children’s Medical Foundation (CMF), an NGO founded in 1995. This charity organization addresses a serious health care gap in rural China. For babies born in remote areas of China, the mortality rate is 3 to 5 times higher in their fi rst month of life than those born in urban areas.

This discrepancy is mainly due to insuffi cientmedical expertise and the lack of proper equipment in ru-ral areas. CMF has addressed this critical situation by establishing lifesaving neonatal care units, which includes training professional staff on how to usemedical equipment to prevent unnecessary newborn deaths. Impoverished families with critically ill babies canapply through CMF’s Save-a-Baby Program, which helps to fund treatment for those with insuffi cient savings.

Currently, CMF has 224 neonatal care units across 12 provinces, and continues to expand its medical pro-grams so babies can have a higher survival rate inrural China.
