USAP Main
Stations
• Remain operational as historically• No change in observing strategy• Routine distribution of data
Other USAP
Observing
• The USAP data will continue field observations
• METkits will be providing 24x7 AWS type 10 minute data at our LC-130 Field Camp locations
• On top of the standard limited METAR reporting the camp personnel do.
• The automated data as well as manual METARs will be placed on LDM for distribution.
• Note: Potential for Upper air at WAIS or BYRD, and possibly at the main camp near Thwaites?
• Two Vaisala MW32 systems that need upgrades that USAP could borrowed from US Navy METOC
• Funding/direction required for this.• Unclear for YOPP-SH
