Americas Wild Horses Under AttackFederal roundups terrorize

    wild horses in miles-long

    helicopter stampedes over

    rugged terrain in extreme

    weather conditions. Once

    captured, the mustangs

are crammed into pens, processed, and shipped

    off to holding facilities,

    where the majority are

    confined for life.

    Wild horses live in tightly-

    knit family bands; lead

    stallions fiercely defend

    their mares and foals. The

Interior Department Bureauof Land Management (BLM)

    roundups destroy these

families; foals are forever torn from their mothers and mares are

    forcibly removed from their stallions.

Americas wild horses have survived for centuries in harsh desert

environments made more hostile by ranchers who view them as pests

and want them removed from public lands. The BLM roundups are

decimating remaining wild horse herds and wasting tax dollars.

Today, Americas wild horses are making their last stand, and the

American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign is standing with

them to preserve these national icons for generations to come.

The American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign is a coalition of

horse advocacy, conservation, animal welfare, and historic

preservation organizations working to stop the roundups and

implement a cost-effective and humane government management

policythat keeps wild horses on the Western range where they belong.
