I have curly hair, which means my strands tend to be naturally dry as they are. So when I used

harsh chemicals to strip out my hair’s dark color and then ap-plied 350 degree heat to it re-cently, the result was far from what I was initially going for.

Instead of sleek and glam, I ended up with limp, dry, sad hair. The kind that sends you into panic mode because you’re sure you’ve pushed your luck and this is the day when all your hair is going to fall out.

Luckily for me, this time around I had a couple of prod-ucts sitting in my shower that gave my hair (and me) one more chance to get it right.

WHAT IS IT? Tressa hair care products

are based on the philosophy

that “beauty should be simple.” That’s why the products in their Argan Oil 7 Healthy Hair Sys-tem line are made to multi-task by providing several benefits in the least amount of steps. Their Moisture Healing Shampoo and mask make for a great combi-nation to not only thoroughly cleanse your hair but also pro-tect and repair hair that has been weakened or damaged by color, chemical processing or heat styling.

PROSUsually after committing this

level of damage to my hair, I try to make up for it by keeping any additional chemicals away from it for at least a few of days. This means no styling products, no sprays, not even shampoos. The farthest I’ll go is use conditioner.

However, with the Moisture Healing Shampoo I don’t have

byMariamPaul

To say my hair was fried after I impulsively colored and then straightened it with a flat iron,

would be somewhat of an understatement.

the usual worry of exposing my hair to the drying agents found in most shampoos. The formula is made to fortify and strength-en damaged hair. It gently cleanses and penetrates your strands with antioxidant-rich argan oil, which is known to leave hair silky and smooth without weighing it down.

Additional nutrients and proteins such as keratin, one of your hair’s building blocks, further aid in repairing the hair. So not only was I able to use this shampoo without worrying about causing more damage, but I did so feeling like it was going to reverse some of the harm I had already caused.

While the shampoo is great, it’s the healing mask that was my saving grace. It’s a 100% Argan Oil-derived moisturizing treatment that you can leave in your hair for one to five minutes

while it goes to work to serious-ly reform your frazzled strands. I loved how little I actually needed to coat my strands, but just for good measure I covered the tips with a little extra.

I repeated this process two days in a row and what usual-ly takes a couple of weeks, tons of leave-in conditioner, a few homemade concoctions and a prayer here or there was done in a fraction of the time.

BOTTOM LINE

I’m not recommending you treat your hair with reckless abandon like I tend to do ev-ery time the season changes. However, if you find your locks are feeling dry or damaged and with more split ends than usu-al, this combo can turn things around in no time at all.

Designers who are bold enough to go all the way back to the drawing board on objects that most of us hardly even no-tice anymore are often the ones who come up with the most compelling new ideas. Take shoes, for example. London architect Julian Hakes took a completely fresh look at the very basics of shoe design one day in 2009…and suddenly, an internet phenomenon was un-leashed.

Hakes realized that high heeled shoes don’t really need all of the elements they current-ly have. Since all of the wearer’s weight is carried on the ball of the foot and the heel, why is a full foot plate necessary? With this revelation in mind, he set out to design a shoe unlike any-thing the world had ever seen.

The architect began by wrap-ping his own foot in paper and tape and drawing various geo-metric designs on the paper

Soleless Fashion:Astounding Lime-Peel Sculptural Shoes

and all around the contours of his foot. After carefully cutting the new shape off with a scalpel, Hakes was left with something that resembled a lime peel, so he dubbed his shoe design Mo-jito.

The experiment with the pa-per led Hakes to eventually pro-ducing the remarkable shoes seen here. The graceful, airy shape wraps around the foot, supporting the ball and heel and but leaving the arch tanta-

lizingly exposed. Although dis-comfort has never stopped ded-icated shoe lovers from wearing outrageous designs, everyone who has tried on a pair of Moji-tos has called them “surprising-ly comfortable.” sourceonline

Community?

Telemedicine refers to the use of various tele-communications by physicians and medical institutions that provide health care to their patients through electronic or digital means. Telemedicine employs technology that makes it possible for health care providers toc are for their patients at remote areas. Telemedicine affords caregivers the ability to collect and transfer medical data, still images, and live audio and video transmissions. The advanced use of information and com-munication technology makes it possible for a single doctor to attend to more patients than by depending on conventional methods while also making prescriptions on-line

ProgramgoalsIn Tanzania, most people are based in rural areas where access to health care is poor. Yet the epicentre of healthcare expertise and re-sources remains in the cities. Isolation from the rest of the medical world, lack of up-to-date reference material and lack of consul-tation possibilities has led to low quality of diagnosis in rural areas. People who can af-ford it come to cities for their health care at an enormous cost. Telemedicine is particu-larly beneficial for patients because they can receive specialist consultations in their local hospital, where they would be willing to pay for quality care.

It may seem like one of the most simplis-tic parts of your beauty routine, but did you know you might be washing your face incor-rectly?

Yes, there is a right and a wrong way to wash your face, and regardless of what your newest product or gadget promises about delivering that deep-down clean you desire, you may still be doing more harm than good if you don’t follow a few basic steps when cleansing your face.

Enlarged pores, dull-looking skin and chronic acne problems such as breakouts and blackheads that never seem to disappear, can all be a result of either being too aggressive or not cleansing thoroughly enough.

If you struggle with acne, regardless of whether you’re a teen or in middle-age, try the following 5 steps for properly washing your face and you’ll see clearer, softer skin in no time.
