AWARENESS SESSION ON MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTHCARE by FACE
Program
Awareness session on maternal and child healthcare, a joint collaboration between FFC
FACE Program and Population Welfare Department Government of Punjab was held at
Food Security & Agriculture Center of Excellence (FACE) Ahmedpur Lamma, Rahim Yar
Khan on 28th February 2020.
The participants were handed out free of cost vitamin tablets, folic acid tablets, ORS and
tablets for fever. Approximately 35-40 participants attended the session.
Certified LIVESTOCK TRAINING Courses by FACE Program
FFC’s Food Security & Agriculture Center of Excellence (FACE) in collaboration with its
partner Alight has started a 6-month JICA Certified Livestock Training Program for out of
school children at FACE Ahmedpur Lamma. The objective is to provide technical skill
whereby trainees can earn a living and add to the household income. Courses
commenced at the FACE Center Ahmedpur Lamma under this program includes General
Housing, Feed and Feeding, Breeding, Care of Pregnant Calf and Rearing, Sheep and
Goat Farming, Animal Health, Preventive and Primary Curative Measures and Rural
Poultry Farming. In addition, Rs 50/- as daily stipend is also awarded to the participants
of the course.
SESSION ON KITCHEN GARDENING by FACE Program
Awareness session on Kitchen Gardening for women was held at 25 chak, Ahmedpur
Lamma by FFC’s Food Security & Agriculture Center of Excellence (FACE) in
collaboration with Agri Extension, Government of Punjab on 29th February 2020. Kitchen
gardening fulfills domestic consumption and allows growers to earn livelihood by selling
produce in the market.
Free seeds of summer vegetables were distributed among participants.
TB SCREENING CAMP held at FACE Center (APL)
FFC’s Food Security & Agriculture Center of Excellence (FACE) in collaboration with
Indus Hospital Network (IHN) successfully conducted a tuberculosis (TB) screening camp
at FACE Office Ahmedpur Lamma, Rahim Yar Khan on 27th Feb 2020.
Number of persons screened was 70, out of which 7 presumptive TB cases have been
referred to Indus Hospital Bhong for free-of-cost treatment.
