Objectives
• To honour non-governmental organizations who have positively impacted the status of the girl child through outstanding innovations in the areas of:
– Health & Nutrition– Education – Employability
• To use prize philanthropy as an effective tool to promote:
– Innovation– Awareness– Targeted benefits to the needy
Scope of the Award
• Non-governmental organizations from all parts of India are welcome to participate
• Working on issues around Health and Nutrition, Education and Employability of the Girl Child.
• A clear focus on innovation
• Innovative service delivery helps to create greater impact and greater sustainability
Award Categories
• Education: NGOs working towards educating the girl child and opening up a world of opportunities for her
• Health and Nutrition: Innovation in the area of Health and Nutrition for the girl child which is often neglected
• Employability: Innovative and Sustainable models ensuring that the girl child is employable in the future

Broad Criteria for Selection
• Innovation – Be put into action– Involving change– Seen as improvements by end users/target group– Achieving results (not just being “different”)
• Direct Social Impact– The impact and benefit for end users/beneficiaries
• Sustainability– The sustainability of the project over a period of time
• Replicability– The project has a model that is replicable in similar contexts
• Context– The geographical/political/social context in which the project is running
Expected Outcomes
• To bring focus and attention to the issue of improving the status of the girl child
• To showcase and leverage support for organizations engaging in innovative projects on the issue of the girl child across India
• To enable the organizations to attract international and domestic donor interest
• To share these innovative ideas within the private, public and non-profit sectors, to encourage adaptation and replication
