The Perlman Family Office, successor to Scottwood Capital Management, has been

invested in the public financial markets since its launch in December 2012. The private firm

employs a similar conservative investment philosophy, with a high priority on tax

efficiency, liquidity and low investment costs. To date, its chief, Edward Perlman, is

outperforming the S&P 500, and almost all hedge funds by a wide margin.

Background:

Cobbling together his personal savings and funds entrusted to him from longtime clients, Edward Perlman in December 2001 set up

shop with his hedge fund Scottwood Capital Management, after a 17-year career working on the trading desks at top Wall Street firms. He then attracted enough investors to build

Scottwood into a $980 million money manager that outperformed the markets and

its peers. Today, he manages his investments in the single family office he set up last year after returning all of his hedge fund clients'

capital.

For the ten years of managing Scottwood, Edward Perlman generated approximately

12% net annualized returns, without the ups and downs suffered by others. The firm's best year was 2009 when it gained a net 44%. Its

worst year was 2008 when it lost 7.6%.

In 2009, the Hedge Fund Markets Week publication recognized Scottwood Capital Management with a First Place award as

“best event-driven fund” in the U.S. and, in 2010, Barron’s magazine gave Scottwood top ranking in its Penta list of the Top 100 Hedge

Funds in the world.
