Dearest SENIORS,

Congratulations class of 2015! This is your year. Think about Freshman-you. Think about all of your dreams and goals you had nearly 4 years ago. This year, your senior year, will be the window of opportunity in which you can make all of those dreams real. This year you will encounter ups and downs with everything from relationships/friendships to college acceptance. The strongest seniors come out fighting because the taste of success after leaving the comfort of Sandalwood is so strong, they wake up every morning desperately wanting success. Some of you choose success because someone along the way told you that you couldn’t. Others simply want success because thoughts of the future are so strong; supporting a family, holding a high-paying job or being able to purchase your dream house or car. For most, you want to make those that love you proud. Each of you have been blessed with natural abilities, talents and interests. This summer your goal is to do some soul searching. I strongly believe that this packet will help you form opinions of your own, find out who you really are and begin day dreaming about your own life in 5 years. I want each of you to find what you love to do in this world and make it your number one priority to make it your career. If you do this, you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I am overwhelmed with happiness when thinking about every single one of you walking across that stage to receive your diploma and closing the door to this chapter of your life. I am genuinely proud of each of your accomplishments. There is no greater joy I have than watching you grow into the person you were meant to be. No matter what happens next year, know that you can come home to AVID and find the love and support you need, even at your lowest point. We are AVID strong and together we will hold each other accountable to achieve every goal – even the ones you had 4 years ago. I hope that senior year brings you an infinite amount of joy and that you revel in all the experiences this year offers. If you have ever had dreams about buying your own car and parking in the senior parking lot… do it! If you have ever thought about running for Prom King/Queen, attending Grad Bash, running for homecoming King/Queen, joining that one club or finally trying out for the sport you were to scared to try out for as an underclassmen… do it! This is your year, seniors. YOU have the power to make all of these experience/memories happen and you leave with no regrets. -Mrs. Harrington
