About Aviation Management Development Programme

The Aviation Management Development Programme, an innovative management training curriculum for the aviation sector, is the first-of-it’s kind collaboration in the Middle East between PwC and IATA, designed and tailored for mid-level and executive management of airlines, airports, ground handlers and civil aviation authorities.

The training programme comprises of six classroom-based, instructor-led modules specially designed for the aviation industry carefully chosen to provide a participant the tools and insight to think strategically, enhance productivity and engage in progressive leadership. A participant can choose any four of the six modules suited to address the specific business needs.

The programme combines the best of both worlds, PwC's renowned rigour and acumen in financial management, leadership development and strategic planning; and IATA's hands on expertise in effective team management, lean Six Sigma, and management of aviation projects.

Classes are delivered in one of the aviation capitals of the world, Dubai, at PwC's dedicated built for purpose Academy premises that offers a world class training experience.

The Aviation Management Development Programme has been designed for aviation sector organisations that want to upskill their teams, to reward high-performing employees and to groom individuals identified for succession planning. It will add tremendous value to managers who want to fast-track their career in the industry and develop in a more strategic role within their organisation.

Who is it for?

The certificates are jointly awarded by PwC and IATA. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of each module. In addition, participants will receive an Aviation Management Development Programme Certificate of Achievement upon completion of four of the six modules.

Certification

The training programme is spread across the year to minimise the impact on day-to-day business. Each module is for five days and one module is completed per month. The programme fee is USD 12,000 (includes any four of the six modules). A participant may also choose to complete the remaining modules for an additional fee of USD 3000 per module.

Fee and duration

Our foundation is a fantastic team of trainers with extensive functional and sectoral experience in the Middle East. Classes are delivered using a mix of multisensory approaches including facilitated classroom sessions, group work, case studies, exercises and activities. The learning experience is enriched with practical and real-world examples and discussions from the aviation industry.

Training methodology

IATA is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing about 265 airlines or 83% of total air traffic. This five day course provides a comprehensive overview of accounting and finance, with a focus on the aviation industry. Participants on this course will appreciate the importance of finance, understand the nature of financial information, how to analyse this information and use it for internal decision making, and identify control mechanisms.

Recognising the value of project management is what sets high-performing organisations apart from low-performing ones, with the latter seeing only 36% of their projects meet their original goals. Despite the well-documented impact of project management expertise, only 61% of organisations provide training on project management tools and techniques.

Lean Six Sigma is a proven methodology that drives continuous improvement in organisations and enhances customer satisfaction by systematically removing waste. This five day course will provide participants with an overview of the lean methodology and the tools necessary to support improvement projects and the application of Lean Six Sigma in their company. Topics covered in this course include DMAIC methodology, becoming waste conscious, standards, root cause analysis, process mapping, data measurement systems and kaizen.
