Aviagen has an extensive programme of training for all existing and new staff to ensure that they meet the company’s high standards of welfare, quality and bio-security. 2015 is a momentous year for the Stratford Hatchery. Not only does the hatchery celebrate 25 years of delivering quality chicks, but we are also delighted to look forward to the future as well as the past with the opening of a new Annexe. Aviagen ® have invested almost £8million in an Annexe to the existing facility to be able to satisfy the consistent high demand from across the world for Aviagen stock of all generations and to ensure that the company can meet the needs of their local UK PS customers for the foreseeable future. Therefore, the new and extended Stratford Hatchery will have designated areas – the existing area primarily being used for hatching high generation (GGP and GP) orders, the Annexe mainly for PS orders, but with the flexibility of the existing Hatchery and the Annexe being capable of operating together to deliver the requirements for higher volumes of Aviagen breeding stock. The Annexe has capacity to set an additional 400,000 eggs, pushing total setting capacity through the one-million-eggs-per-week barrier. The location of the Hatchery is ideal from a logistics point of view and the high biosecurity standards within Aviagen as well as the excellent health status in the UK ensure the highest standards of quality. The Annexe will become a part of the Aviagen compartment. Last but not least, the skill base of the workforce is second to none. All these factors make the Stratford Hatchery a vital part of the Aviagen global supply network.

2015 is a momentous year for the Stratford Hatchery. Not only does the hatchery celebrate 25 years of delivering quality chicks, but we are also delighted to look forward to the future as well as the past with the opening of a new Annexe.

Aviagen® have invested almost £8million in an Annexe to the existing facility to be able to satisfy the consistent high demand from across the world for Aviagen stock of all generations and to ensure that the company can meet the needs of their local UK PS customers for the foreseeable future.
