The 5th annual Morristown Festival of Books is happening on Oct. 12-13

— and it is not to be missed. Headline authors include Joyce Carol Oates,

A.J. Finn, Chris Matthews, Laini Taylor, Mark Di Ionno, Ibtihaj Muhammad,

Matt de la Peňa, Kate Morton, and more.

Book festivals can take many shapes and sizes. The Morristown Festival

is wonderfully unique. In fact, it has been hailed as “the best” and “truly

outstanding” by authors, publishers, and delighted participants.

What happens at MFOB?

• In-person talks by more than 50 world-class authors, representing

every imaginable genre, including Pulitzer Prize winners, Caldecott

medalists, New York Times chart toppers, and more.

• Book signings by these wonderful authors: yes, you can meet your

literary idol.

• New, beautiful books for purchase (and then signed, with possible

opportunity to take a selfie with the author).

• Discussion, insight, laughter, snacks, book-loving camaraderie,

tote-bag-strapitis.

All of this is open to the public and, aside from select ticketed talks, free

of charge. The opening night is a ticketed Keynote Event and this year’s

guest is former Secretary of State John Kerry.

The Main Festival takes place from 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, rain or shine, at

several locations in the heart of downtown

Morristown. There are plenty of red-shirted volunteers to direct you once

you arrive.

Now, does this sound like something you want to miss? Of course not.

Mark the calendar and make your plans now. For more information and

a complete list of festival authors and events, visit morristownbooks.org.

Summit Medical Group MD Anderson Cancer Center is openSummit Medical Group MD Anderson Cancer

Center at 150 Park Ave. in Florham Park opened its doors to patients in March. This new, state-of-the-art outpatient facility offers convenient, comprehensive cancer care through a wealth of vital services including breast surgery, dermatology, general surgery, gynecologic oncology, imaging, laboratory, oncology/hematology, plastic surgery, radiation oncology, and vascular services. In addition to providing key medical services, the center is home to an on-site shop featuring specialty apparel and comfort items for cancer patients and a full-service resource center equipped with informational materials and staffed by a non-clinical patient navigator who effectively guides patients through complicated information regarding their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery process. These additional support services, made possible through Summit

Medical Group Foundation, help to extend the offerings beyond just the physical, to all aspects of cancer care.

This new treatment facility completes the campus that also includes Summit Medical Group’s 140 Park Ave. building, presently outfitted with more than 30 medical specialties and a top-notch urgent care facility. The 150 Park Ave. location is a welcome addition to the comprehensive program currently serving patients in convenient locations throughout northern New Jersey.
