The main Objective of the Project is to Control and Monitor the Pasteurization and Homogenization Process of Milk

In order to increase product quality and to minimize energy consumption and impact on the environment, it is necessary to optimize the food process design and operation. Therefore, the aim of this work was to study the optimization feasibility of the milk pasteurization process using programmable logic controller (PLC) & Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA)

Principle idea of this project is to show automation of milk pasteurization & homogenization using Allen Bradley RS Logix 500 software and Wonder ware Intouch 9.5 software.

Raw Milk Reception Dock (RMRD) is the primary point of liquid milk entry in dairies in India

The collection process starts from the villages, groups of which are assigned to distinct Milk Truck Routes

Here the milk is weighed and tested and also generates the receipt statement according to the measured parameters

Milk analyzers measure fat contents, solids nonfat (SNF), milk density, protein and added water.

Measured milks: cow, sheep, buffalo, and goat milk

Measuring time: 40 sec.

Measurements per hour: 65-70

SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. As the name indicates, it is not a full control system, but rather focuses on the supervisory level. As such, it is a purely software package that is positioned on top of hardware to which it is interfaced, in general via Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), or other commercial hardware modules.

Features of SCADA: Dynamic process Graphic Alarm summery Alarm history Real time trend Historical time trend Security (Application Security) Data base connectivity

ConclusionConclusion The automation of Milk Processing in the Dairy Field is Controlled and Monitored the

Pasteurization and Homogenization Process of Milk by using PLC ( Allen Bradely ) and

SCADA ( Intouch ) Effectively

Conventional method of control and maintenance of Processing of Milk are now affectively

replaced with state of the Microprocessor based PLC System, which made the control and

maintenance easy, efficient and flexible.
