The sector for service robotics is booming. According to the International

Federation of Robotics, it has enormous growth potential: Between 2012 and

2015, at least 93,800 new professional robots worth EUR 12.5 billion will

be sold around the world. The hot topic of professional service robotics was

already a topic of discussion at the last AUTOMATICA. At the 2012 fair,

11,000 of the 30,000 participants attended the forum events, exhibition

stands and the service robotics innovation platform.

Industrie 4.0 in der Praxis

Demonstrator:Agentenbasierte Kopplung – ein MigrationskonzeptVerschiedene Roboter bzw. Handlingsysteme auf den Ständen verschiedener

Anbieter bearbeiten ein Produkt gemeinsam (fügen, gravieren, fräsen,

schweißen, drucken etc.).

Der Messebesucher kann ein Produkt per Smartphone, Tablet oder Laptop

auswählen, den Status seines Auftrags beobachten, bei Warteschlangen die

Bearbeitungsart ändern oder den Auslieferungsstand wählen. Ein Agenten-

system analysiert die notwendigen Produktionsschritte und die vorhandenen

Ressourcen.

Ein Roboter, der autonom fährt, transportiert das entstehende Produkt zwischen

den Messeständen.

Der Vorteil liegt in einer sogenannten „Agentenplattform“. Sie teilt über

einfachste Schnittstellen die Services des jeweiligen Roboters auf Anfrage mit

und ermöglicht so eine maschinenübergreifende Kommunikation.

In Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Vogel-Heuser, Lehrstuhl Automatisierung und Informations-

systeme (AIS), TUM.

Industrie 4.0, Maschine-zu-Maschine-Kommunikation (M2M) oder Internet der DingeDiese Begriffe mit Leben zu erfüllen, begreifbar und erlebbar zu machen, ist

das Ziel dieser Sonderschau. Um die Produktionen zukünftig wettbewerbs-

fähig zu halten, muss sich die Branche dem Thema Industrie 4.0 bereits

heute stellen. Eine der Herausforderungen dabei ist der Schutz des Unter-

nehmens-Know-hows bei zunehmender Vernetzung bis hin zur Cloud.

Demonstrator:Agent-based coupling – a migration conceptRobots and handling systems at the stands of various manufacturers will

machine a product together (joining, engraving, milling, welding, printing, etc.).

Visitors attending the fair can select a product via Smartphone, tablet or laptop,

monitor the status of their job, change the type of processing to avoid waiting

in line or select a stand for delivery. An agent system analyzes the necessary

production steps and available resources.

A robot that moves autonomously transports the product being created between

the exhibition stands.

The advantage lies in a so-called agent platform. It uses the simplest interfaces

to pass on information about each robot’s services when it receives an inquiry,

enabling communication between all the machines.

Industry 4.0, Machine-to-machine communication (M2M) or an “Internet of things”The objective of this special show is to fi ll these terms with life and make them

competitive in the future, the industry must deal with the topic of Industry 4.0

now. One of the challenges is protecting a company’s know-how despite

increased networking – all the way up to the cloud. AUTOMATICA will show

Wandlungsfähige und kostengünstige Automatisierungslösungen für Kleinserien

und wechselnde Produktzyklen: Das benötigen kleine und mittelständische

Unternehmen, um wettbewerbsfähig bleiben zu können. Intelligente und kosten-

Vision verfolgt das europäische Forschungsprojekt SMErobotics, das vom

Fraunhofer IPA koordiniert wird. Ziel ist es, Technologien für adaptive Automati-

kleinen und mittelständischen Produktionen einsetzbar sein.

Gemeinschaftsstand mit ProjektpartnernIn der Forschungsinitiative SMErobotics sind europäische Roboterhersteller,

Systemintegratoren und führende Forschungsinstitute vertreten. Auf einem

Gemeinschaftsstand der AUTOMATICA 2014 demonstrieren die Projektpartner

Technologien für kostengünstige, modulare und interaktive Automatisierungs-

lösungen in unterschiedlichen Live-Demonstrationen. Wie Mensch und Roboter

effektiv zusammenarbeiten können, wird an verschiedenen Exponaten gezeigt.

Small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises require adaptable, cost-

effective automation solutions for small production runs and variable product

cycles, if they are to remain competitive. Intelligent, cost-effective robot systems

for small and medium-sized productions are designed to be intuitive and easy

to operate, to learn interactively from humans and to adapt to variable production

processes which are typical for small and medium-sized enterprises. This is the

vision behind the European research project SMErobotics, which is coordinated

by Fraunhofer IPA. The goal is to develop technologies for adaptive robots that

are easy to use, especially by small and medium-sized businesses and their agile

productions.

Joint stand with project partnersThe research initiative brings together major European robot manufacturers,

system integrators and leading research institutes. At a joint stand at the

AUTOMATICA 2014 trade fair, SMErobotics will present initial prototypes from

the project in various live demonstrations. The effective man-machine coope-

ration will be shown in various exhibits.
