MEETING THE

BILL GATES CHALLENGE


A purpose-built project designed to combine the talents and efforts of every Rotary Club in RIBI with three main aims…


Raise £1m for the Polio Eradication campaign Maximise public awareness of the Polio campaign – and Rotary in general Increase membership


The District 1010 Target for Each Club is…….At least $5000 by 30th June 2012, Clubs with over 40 members expected to contribute more

Raise from non-Rotarians


A co-ordinated campaign, timed for February 23, 2010 – Rotary Day, and the immediate period around it(February 20 – 28)


Money raised will be credited to the Gates Challenge and will count against any Club and District targets


Every club is asked to… Organise a Polio fund-raising event in their own community - wherever possible, linking with local schools and colleges. Organise a ‘Window of Opportunity’. Obtain wide-ranging media coverage of these events.


There are a number of linked initiatives that are being pursued by Clubs and Districts in support of this campaign
