Before start

1. Install Video Streaming Server

In order to perform VOD test, a video streaming server and a video player software will be needed. In this document, Darwin Streaming Server and QuickTime player are used. These are the open source free software. In the purpose of referencing, both of the software could found on links below:

or Deliver CD/Utility/VOD_Utility/ DarwinStreamingSrvr5.5.5-Windows.exe Deliver CD/Utility/ QuickTimeInstaller.exe For more details on the installation of the video streaming server, please refer to the manual for the corresponding video streaming server.

2. Put Play File onto the Streaming Server

Also, you will need a reference video clip at both the server machine and client machine. Couei will provide the test data in deliver CD. You can play file onto the server as below,

(1) Copy the play example data folder “Deliver CD/CoueiVOD” (2) Paste the folder into the play directory of streaming server.

(When user install Darwin Streaming Server, if directory is not changed, the default

play directory is “C:\Program Files\Darwin Streaming Server\Movies”.)



How to set Autocall Setting for VOD test

1. Designate VOD Connection Information and Call Timers

Example of designate VOD connection info and call timers

① Left click to select VOD Script window

② Address Bar

In Address Bar, please input the correct address of streaming file. In order to confirm correct address, user may test it via Quick Time player as below,

(1) Run “Quick Time Player” and Open “Open URL” menu.

(2) Input “RTSP address” into below window.

(3) If the address is correct, video will be played.



(4) If the address is correct, copy the address into address bar of VOD menu.

(5) Click “ADD” button

③ Type any call script name

④ Designate VOD connection

- VOD Content In here, customer may add in the full path/address of the video clip at the server

side. User can create a list of video content, however, please kindly note that, only 1 video clip can be used in each scenario. In order to add a video clip in the content, please type in the full path/address in the address bar and click add button.

- Video Quality Test

By checking this box, user will activate the quality test by comparing the video clip downloaded from server with the reference video clip at client machine

- Algorithm Select the algorithm for video quality test (None, PEVQ, MQAS)

- Reference Type in (or browse to) the full path of the reference video clip in client machine

⑤ Designate Call Timers in unit of second



- Idle Time : 5 (seconds, Recommended value) - Setup Time : 1 (second, It will be ignored.) - T.Setup Time : 30 (seconds, Recommended value) - Traffic Time : 100 (seconds)

- Call Count : 1

Traffic Time and Call Count can be changed with your test propose.
