Invo Family of Companies Autism Awareness Month Parent Survey This year, for Autism Awareness Month, we hope to go beyond awareness and help bridge the gap to inclu- sion of those with autism. These are the top results of a new survey that asked parents of children with autism what they wish people knew. Conducted by the Invo Family of Companies, this informal survey provides unique insight into challenges parents and kids face, and the community support they need. “They are still little people with real ears and real feelings.” “You cannot discipline autism out of a child.” “They may have unusual responses to your attempts to interact with them.” “They are not being rude if they don’t talk to you!” Celebrate Autism Awareness Month and Include a Child “Tantrums or meltdowns do not mean the child is spoiled and/or not properly disciplined.” “Realize that they are kids first.” “Nonverbal doesn't mean they don't understand what you are saying.” “Children with autism are all different.
