books for young adults. His wife, Ruth Wright Paulsen has illustrated his books. They live in New Mexico by the Pacific Ocean.
He has won the Newberry Award on three books: The Winter Room, Hatchet & Dog Song
Gary is a favorite author among many students(mainly boys) 8th grade – Juniors.
