SETTINGThe setting of The Outsiders took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1966. It is through the

environment that the author shows them being on the wrong side of the tracks. If it

weren’t for this, the reader wouldn’t understand how the surroundings forced

them to grow up so fast.

CONFLICT

The conflict is the poor Greasers and the rich

Soc’s have many struggles. The Greasers

and the Soc’s are enemies and every time the Soc’s see a Greaser,

they attempt to jump them

SUMMARY OF THE PLOT

The town is split into two groups, one side is the Soc’s (the socials) the other side is the Greasers (the poor people).

They are enemies and every time a Soc sees a Greaser they attempt to

jump them. Until one day it just goes too far.

between four brothers that live together all alone without parents after their death.
