AUTÓDROMO INTERNACIONAL DO ALGARVE | INTRODUCTION

Inaugurated in November 2008, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) received the grand finale of the FIM World Superbike Championship, its first event.

Part of a pioneering project, it was designed to provide all the necessary facilities to the various sectors of the motorsport industry, from manufacturers to racing teams in order to test, develop, present and launch their products.

The philosophy behind this project was to create a set of equipment that, within close proximity could complement each other: a Racetrack, a Go-Kart Track, Off-Road Park, ‘Vista do Falcão Residences’ Apartments, a 5 star Hotel, a Techno Park and a Sport Complex.

The Algarve is a famous tourist destination, with a strong international image associated with mild climate, the friendliness of its people, as well for its fine gastronomy.

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is located near the city of Portimão, at Sítio do Escampadinho, parish of Mexilhoeira Grande, about 5 km north of the A22, being the exit 3 of Mexilhoeira Grande the direct road link. The cities of Portimão and Lagos are about 10 minutes away.

THE TRACK

The circuit offers 32 different track configurations, with perimeters from 3.465m (shortest) to 4.684m (F1 version) and is homologated by FIA and FIM, to host motoring and motorcycling competitions at the highest level.

The different combinations allow users to choose between faster, challenging versions or slower and more technical ones.

Within a unique and dynamic setting the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) offers excellent facilities for hosting all event types. Combining its modern facilities and excellent services we will deliver your event to the highest standard.

AIA is the perfect venue for corporate events, presentations and product launches. Whether it’s a small meeting for 10 or a reception for 800 we have several divisible rooms, with natural light, private balconies, as well as restaurants, bars and catering service.

VIP Lounge The VIP Lounge is situated over the pits and paddock area with excellent views from its large balcony over the pit lane start/ finish line, being used during racing events as an exclusive area for special guests. With 1.152m2 of flexible, well-planned space this room offers the possibility to host events for just a few special clients or for 800 people.

D. Ermelinda VIP Room The D. Ermelinda VIP Room provides the ideal solution for smaller events or private meetings, up to 60 guests, while enjoying superb panoramic views over the track. The large adjoining balcony can be used as a lounge area or for sunset Cocktails & Canapés.

Briefing Room The briefing room is located on the first floor of the Race Control building. This room can be used for various purposes, such as press conferences, briefing sessions, conferences & meetings, and product presentations. With an integrated PA system has capacity for 120 people.

AIA offers a choice of three different types of hospitality suites located in distinct areas of the circuit: VIP Tower, Paddock and Grandstand. All suites have natural daylight, toilets, TV and Air Conditioning and superb views from its adjoining private balconies. With capacity from 10 to 21 people the suites are ideal for meetings, training sessions, breakout rooms and, of course, enjoying all of our events.

The Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, AIA’s go-kart track, was inaugurated in 2010, and is considered one of the biggest and best karting circuits in Europe. It can be used for multiple purposes from official competitions, tests and presentations to private or corporate races or simply for individual or groups kart rental for pure leisure and fun.

With multiple track configurations, users can choose between faster and more challenging versions or more winding and technical versions. There is also the possibility of adapting the circuit in five independent tracks that can be used simultaneously.

KIA also has rain simulation system that allows the use of different water levels, to meet the requirements of teams testing cars or tires.

OFF-ROAD PARK

OFF-ROAD PARK


Inaugurated in June 2011 the Off-Road Park was created with the purpose of complementing the existing structures at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

The complex was projected to provide both teams and manufactures the opportunity to test and develop their products within a single area, bringing together all variants of motoring and motorcycling: high speed and off-road.
