Page 1 of 4 AUSTRALIAN MACCABIAH TEAM –PHYSIOTHERAPIST We have an exciting opportunity for suitably trained and experienced Physiotherapists to be part of the Australian Team at the 20 th Maccabiah Games. We are seeking two of Physiotherapists for the Australian Maccabiah Team. The Physiotherapist role represents a special opportunity for suitably trained and experienced professionals to be a part of a team of Physiotherapists and provide best practice injury management and physiotherapy support to the Australian Maccabiah Team, and with them participate in the most wonderful three weeks – celebrating sport, Israel, and friendship. The Maccabiah is a life experience not to be missed. The Maccabi organisation in Australia has a proud history of developing Jewish sport and has been sending a team to the Maccabiah since 1950. Importantly Maccabi Australia is a Zionist sports organisation and is focused on strengthening its links with Israel and the Jewish community generally. The Maccabiah Games provides a unique opportunity to Jewish athletes to: ! Participate and strive to be the best they can at the pinnacle of Jewish Sport ! Represent Australia at an international sporting event ! Develop and deepen a sense of connection to one another, the Maccabi movement and to Israel The Physiotherapists will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the team and in creating the right environment for the athletes to achieve their best possible results and sporting goals at the 20th Maccabiah Games. Reporting to the Head Physiotherapist, the Team Physiotherapist role is for professionals willing to volunteer their time in support of an amazing experience. The Physiotherapists will actively support the Australian Maccabiah Team values and culture to bring the best prepared, best planned and best ever team to Israel in 2017. The Team Physiotherapists will need to: ! Uphold the overall philosophy and values of the Maccabiah Games ! Be familiar with the Australian Maccabiah Team rules and regulations ! Understand the expectations of the Australian Team Management ! Provide a high level of physiotherapy services to support athletes to achieve their goals ! Possess excellent interpersonal skills, time management and recordUkeeping skills ! Have the ability to adapt to the specific needs of the various situations ! Possess strong oral and written communication skills ! Demonstrate an ability to exercise sound judgement, observe confidentiality and use discretion This role would suit an experienced sport club / team Physiotherapist, experienced in and passionate about athlete performance, fitness, health and wellbeing.
