Degree Evaluations: Degree Evaluations are based on the bulletin a
student is following.
Different bulletins could potentially have different requirements and that is why not every degree evaluation for a major is identical.
The areas of a degree audit are Core
Major
Minor or Concentration if applicable
Upper Division
Free Electives
Reading the Audit As you go along the degree evaluation, you will notice
that each area (section) has Yes or No to the left hand side (when looking at the audit).
This tells you if the course or area has been completed. If the student is enrolled in a course, the degree audit
will mark that area as met and assume successful completion
We have designed the degree audits with big, bold “NO’s” so that sticks out and is easy to identify
Status of courses R = means student is currently registered for the course H = student has completed the course with APSU T = course was transferred in to APSU
Caveats: For Sociology – there is a no double dipping situation
with the Family Studies minor, therefore, the courses from the minor will not appear in the Upper Division area. Often this causes the required hours to be manually calculated.
Students who are enrolled, can drop and add courses at any time, this will change the degree audit instantly.
If a student has taken a course and made an “F”, the repeat course will not show on the audit until a final grade is assigned.
DSP work- will not show on the audit as it is not considered College level
*Now lets look at a sample degree evaluation
Tips for degree audits
Always select Generate New
If you select the blue code, it will only pull the last
audit that was generated
If something does not look as it did before, you
can always look at a previous evaluation to
compare.
Substitutions automatically load into the system
and once approved automatically show up on the
audit.
Students enrolled courses are pulling on this
audit, so what they need is in addition to what
they are enrolled for.
