“This directory has been developed as a platform for the firms participating on the Rail Suppliers Network Australasia (RSNA) stand at AusRAIL Plus

2013 to provide introductory information about their work to event participants. The information in the directory has been provided by the participating

firms and has not been independently verified by the event supporters. The directory is intended to complement the participating firms’ attendance at

AusRAIL Plus 2013 as a way to advertise their services and provide attendees with contact information which may be useful after the event.”

4 RAIL INDUSTRY CAPABILITY DIRECTORY

The Services Offering

The RSNA services have been developed based on its mission statement

that says “The Rail Suppliers Network Australasia seeks to ensure the

continuity, growth, strength and success of the rail supply industry in

Australia and New Zealand.” This will be achieved through:

• Facilitating access to business opportunities in the local and

international markets;

• Providing advice to companies who wish to develop their activities

within the market and access government’s grants, financial services

and export assistance;

• Facilitating opportunities for companies to present their services to

other organisations; and

• Facilitating opportunities for companies to form technology or

service based clusters for both local and international market.

RAIL SUPPLIERS NETWORK AUSTRALASIA

4

The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) is pleased to announce

the establishment of the Rail Suppliers Network Australasia (RSNA),

formerly known as the Australasian Rail Industry Small Enterprises Group

(ARISEG).

The new look and feel came as a result of the group conducting a

customers’ survey in order to develop a new strategy that better serves the

needs of small to medium enterprises in the rail industry.

The new logo reflects a fresher look displaying cogs in different sizes

and colours representing different sizes and types of business in the rail

industry that work together to drive the industry.

The new direction is categorised into a four-part-framework below.

1. Globally competitive, at home and abroad.

2. Understanding the supply chain and resolving complexities.

3. Clustering approach and innovation.

4. Political advocacy.

5

Australian manufacturing is changing. It is

important, more than ever, to secure our industry’s

future in areas of new and improved opportunities.

I have been working on behalf of Government, to

ensure Australian rail firms are prepared to meet

global challenges by focusing on areas of our

competitive advantage. Supporting firms with

world-leading technologies has been key in helping

ensure the rail sector can meet the future needs of

the global industry. It is those Australian rail firms

that will help position the industry for growth.

Many of these innovative Australian firms are on display at the Rail Suppliers

Network Australasia pavilion at this year’s AusRAIL conference.

On the pavilion, Australian firms will be showcasing their cutting edge

solutions around advanced manufacturing, monitoring and management

and power and propulsion. These are the key areas of the Australian rail

industry’s competitive advantage, according to the On Track to 2040

technology roadmap. The firms will be demonstrating how they are aligning

with these priority areas to supply the high value-add capabilities needed to

drive our manufacturing industry’s future.

This is a pavilion dedicated to the future enhancement of the Australian

rail manufacturing sector, backed by both industry and government. It

represents an incredible collaborative effort in support of the sector with

support from the Federal Department of Industry, NSW Department

of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services, the Rail

Suppliers Network Australasia, the Australasian Railway Association,

Austrade and the ICN.

I look forward to welcoming you on the pavilion to discover the wide variety

of capabilities our Australian firms have on display.
