Wow! As I sit down to welcome you to this years CWSF, I cannot believe a year has passed. It has been a busy year and, as you might have noticed, we have made a few changes. Some of them have been big and obvious, while others are just as important, but are more behind the scenes. They focus on management procedure and setting a solid strategic and business plan. All changes have been made with one goal in mind, and that is to turn the CWSF into the CAN’T MISS THIS location in Central Wisconsin. After generations of being held through Labor Day weekend, we have moved a week earlier. This will get us away from the start of school and free up family time on the holiday. We are very excited to be working with North American Midway Entertainment this year. They will be bringing in a refreshing new look to the CWSF. Be sure to check out Marshfield from the top of the 85 ft Ferris Wheel! You CAN’T MISS THIS!Performing for the first time ever in Wisconsin is Watershow Productions – High Dive Act. They will be doing three shows per day. Thank you to Nasonville Dairy for working with us to provide this act at the Fair. Be sure to stop by and watch the dueling Pirates antics. CAN’T MISS THIS!Our entertainment tent has something for everyone. We have local talent to national traveling acts; singers, dancers, and a ventriloquist… kids from 4 – 94 will enjoy. Our grandstand has a great variety of star performers. Six Appeal kicks off the Fair on Tuesday with some of the best a cappella available. When it comes to country music, John Michael Montgomery and Sawyer Brown will be performing their many hits. Night Ranger will satisfy your classic rock needs on Friday. NEW this year we have the All Star Monster Trucks on Saturday and the Demolition Derby on Sunday. We would like to shout out a big thank you to all of our sponsors, past and present, for everything you do. We couldn’t do this without you!Thank you for attending, and enjoy the Fair.Tell your friends – CAN’T MISS THIS!Dale ChristiansenExecutive Director, Central Wisconsin State Fair

Fairest of the Fair

My name is Dahlia Krokstrom and I am honored to represent the Central Wisconsin State Fair as your 2018 Central Wisconsin State Fair’s Fairest of the Fair. I have lived in Marshfield my whole life and just graduated from Marshfield High School in May 2018. The fair has always been my favorite part of “going back to school”. It wasn’t until I began showing at the fair that I truly began to love the fair. I was a Girl Scout beginning in 2006, and showed arts and crafts at the fair. Then I was a member of the McMillan Mavericks 4H club from 2009 to 2017, then transferring to Webster 4H club which I am currently a member of. Through 4H, I found my passion. Upon joining, my 4H leader got me involved in horseback riding lessons and I was instantly in love. I have shown horses at every fair since then. I’ve also continued showing arts and crafts, homemade salsa, and even dairy cattle. During my junior year in high school, I joined the Marshfield FFA and met so many amazing friends. Now, I enjoy watching the young kids show their animals and projects.I was crowned as Fairest in April 2018, and since then, I have already had numerous amazing experiences. First off, being crowned as Fairest is still the top of my list. Next, I truly enjoy getting to interact with children at the parades, Dairy Breakfasts, and at Farm Tech Days. The Central Wisconsin State Fair will be August 21-26 in Marshfield and I am elated to be representing it. The Grandstand acts and carnival will be great, the food tasty and the exhibits done well as always. You can’t miss this!
