July in Review

Our future is so bright at Discovery Village, we just know it! August has arrived and

July was full of fun, learning and special events. We had a Spirit Week that

incorporated sports, science, art, dress up, and hands-on activities! We had a Wacky

Wednesday, Superhero Day, Sports Day and a Field Day! Our Toddler classroom now

has a class pet, the hamster, Chico! The toddlers are learning about Furry Friends

and how to care for an animal on a daily basis. The infants are thriving, socializing

and engaging in art projects even in their high-chairs! The Preschool classrooms have

been doing a morning workout outdoors. Obstacle courses are set up each day and

they get a workout in early in the morning! The children look forward to it and enjoy

being active with Ms. Jessica and the preschool teachers. Our hallway has turned

into an Under the Sea Mural so watch out when you walk down the hallway, there is

a big shark with his mouth open wide! It has been challenging to navigate through

the COVID-19 pandemic but our villagers are at ease and that is what matters most.

Hands-On Learning and Discovery!

At Discovery Village, our exemplary staff are soaring to great heights to create an

engaging, active, and stress-free environment for our villagers. We have added class

pets, hallway murals, and even a Spirit Week to enrich our program in addition to

our day to day schedules and activities. The children really enjoy being a part of the

decorating of the hallways and thrive with the new morning workout routines.

Classroom teachers have been creating individual cooking projects and sensory

projects that provides each student the opportunity to participate and learn, safely.

It means so much to us to keep the well-being and peace of mind of all children,

families, and teachers because as we all know, it takes a VILLAGE! We look forward

to more children returning as well as welcoming new children! We are so proud of

how our villagers have not only adjusted, but have thrived under these new and

usual circumstances and “norms”. Each child at Discovery Village is truly a rock star!

We are so grateful to be trusted as well as given the opportunity to serve your family.

Employee of the Month

Miss Bianca

We would like to take a moment to recognize Ms. Bianca as the August

employee of the month. Bianca has been with Discovery Village since we

first opened and she is such an exemplary teacher and person. You can

find Bianca in the preschool classrooms but she has worked with all of the

age groups of children. Bianca has years of experience in childcare

including summer camp with school age students and going on field trips!

We admire how reliable, punctual, and thoughtful Bianca is each and

every day. We want to thank you for all that you do at Discovery Village

and for always taking initiative when it comes to the best interest of the

children and our center.

Reminders Discovery Village will be closed on Thursday September 3rd 2020 and Friday

September 4th 2020 for our Staff Development and Orientation. Discovery Village

will be closed on Monday September 7th 2020 in observance of Labor Day.
