INTRODUCTION

Augmented reality is a live, direct or indirect, view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. Augmented Reality is a type of virtual reality that aims to duplicate the world's environment in a computer. Virtual reality is a virtual space in which players immerse themselves into that space and exceed the bounds of physical reality. It adds information and meaning to a real object or place. Augmented reality is characterized by the incorporation of artificial or virtual elements into the physical world as shown by the live feed of the camera, in real-time.

Types of Augmented reality:

• There are two types of simple augmented reality:• Marker-based which uses cameras and visual

cues• Marker-less which use positional data such as a

mobile's GPS and compass.

MODULES

User defined target augmentation Interaction with augmented objects in virtual

space Augmented reality video playback Multiple targets Product information through text file fetched from

cloud

USER DEFINED TAREGET AUGMENTATION• For creating a marker less AR experience we

designed the module that allows the user to pick an image at runtime. Thus, the user can experience AR at any time , anywhere by selecting an image – like a photograph, book cover or poster that has immersive patterns and non repeating textures– from his environment without having to carry around pre-defined targets.

INTERACTION WITH AUGMENTED OBJECTS IN VIRTUAL SPACE

• Interaction is possible in two ways• Dragging the augmented object across the screen using

touch events• The object that is augmented on the screen can be

moved on the screen by touching the object on the phone screen and dragging it in the desired direction

• Moving the augmented object in virtual space with another augmented object• In this type of interaction we use another augmented

object to move the another augmented object with the help of collision detection.

One can move the augmented object in 3D space

AUGMENTED REALITY VIDEO PLAYBACK

• The module designed allows the user to detect an image target and play video on top of it. This will allow the user to watch television on a marker placed in the room one device can do it all, then there is no need of buying a separate television to watch television

PRODUCT INFORMATION Parses JSON file to extract product information recognizes target images from cloud and fetches

target meta data value This meta data value is used to display the

product information
