Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium and spent most of her childhood in the Netherlands, in Arnhem, which was occupied by the Germans during the Second World War. She studied ballet and secretly danced for groups of people to collect money for the Dutch resistance. She later said, "The best audience I ever had made not a single sound at the end of my performance." She was also good at drawing, but she decided to become an actress.
Hollywood career Her first starring role was with Gregory Peck in Roman Holiday (1953), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) became an iconic character in American cinema. She called the role "the jazziest of my career". In the film she wore trendy clothes designed by herself and Givenchy. Their friendship started while she was shooting Sabrina, and she was often a muse for many of his
designs. In 1964 she starred in My Fair Lady as Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl. Since this was a musical, and she wasn't a singer, it was a very brave decision, but she was great again. Her last film was Steven Spielberg's Always, in which she played an angel. She was one of the few entertainers who won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award. In 1999 she was ranked the third greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute.
She was dedicated to helping children in the poorest nations. It was easier for her to travel because she was bilingual in English and Dutch, and fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and German. In 1992, US President George H.W. Bush presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work with UNICEF and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded her the Jean Hershold Humanitarian Award for her
contribution to humanity. She said of her work, "Anyone who doesn't believe in miracles is not a realist. I have seen the miracle of water which UNICEF has helped to make a reality. Where for centuries young girls and women had to walk for miles to get water, now they have clean drinking water near their homes. Water is life, and clean water now means health for the children of this village."
Style and Substance
She was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1961. She was also voted "the most beautiful woman of all time" in a poll of beauty experts by Evian. In 2006 the Sustainable Style Foundation inaugurated the Style and Substance Award in Honour of Audrey Hepburn for celebrities who work to improve the quality of life for children around the world. The first award was given to the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. The "little black dress" from Breakfast at Tiffany's designed by Givenchy sold at Christies auction on 5 December 2006 for 467,200 pounds. The money went to schools for poor children in India. In one of her famous quotes she put it simply, " As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others."

She remains one of the most iconic figures of the 20 century.

The film is about a ring with incredible powers. It all began when Sauron forged 19 rings and gave them to the leaders of each nation. Three were given to the Elves: Immortal, wisest and fairest off all beings. Seven to the Dwarf lords: Great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And 9 rings were given to the race of Men, who desire power above all else. But they were all betrayed. Another ring was made, in the land of Mordor, on mount Doom. The Dark Lord Sauron secretly forged a Master Ring to control all others. That could conquer the world. The lands of Middle-earth were destroyed.
But the Elves and Men joined Sauron and his army. Sauron killed the leader of Men, Isildur's father. Isildur took his father's sword and chopped Sauron's hand. The ring fell. Sauron died. Isildur was blinded by the ring's power. He was incautious, and the Orcs ambushed him. The ring fell into the river. Two thousand and five hundred years passed. The ring got a new owner. The creature Gollum took it deep into the tunnels of the Misty Mountains. It poisoned his mind for 500 years. Until a Hobbit from the Shire named Bilbo Baggins stole it from Gollum. And the journey begins…

ALCHEMY is a skill of tansforming base metals into precioius metals (gold, silver). It also includes the desire for finding the Philosopher's Stone that would provide eternal youth. It was used in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, Japan, China, medieval Europe... Khemes was the founder of Alchemy tough we don't know a lot about him. The ones who used Alchemy the most were wizards, magicians, sorcerers...
The most famous alchemist was Nicholas Flamel. He was the 1st one who made the Philosopher's Stone. The legend says that he and his wife Perenelle never died but remaind young and that they are still alive. The truth, or something like that, is that they both “died“ but their coffins are empty. Another famous alchemist was dr. John Dee, he worked on the court of a French king. One of the symbols of Alchemy is Uroboros. The most famous alchemist in Croatia was Barbara Celjska. Alchemy is mentioned in a lot of books, for instance in the Harry potter series. Four years ago another book was released. The name is: The Alchemyst by Michael Scott. In America the first six books are on sale. In Croatia there are only the first two books on sale.

In 16th century, the French settlers started to colonise the area near the Atlantic Ocean, from Labrador peninsula to the river of St. Lawrence. They founded a Crown colony of New France under the rule of the French king. Their capital was Quebec. So, they often started to call the colony Quebec. But in those times the English explorers and settlers led by sir John Cabot started to colonise the island near the coast of New France. They called it Newfoundland which means newly found land. In those times known Canada was divided in two sections:the British and the French. In 1759, the British became the strongest military power in a continent, so they attacked Quebec. In the Battle of the Plains of Abraham near QuebecThe British under command of sir James Wolfe defeated the French who were led by Louis-‐Joseph de Montcalm. After that infamous battle, whole those days known Canada came under the British rule.They also founded a new capital: Toronto (a good place to live in the language of the Natives). But 1776 the people of thirteen colonies started to be unloyal to the Crown because of the great taxes for selling and buying.
They started to rebel. Between 1776 and 1783 there was a terrible war in thirteen colonies called The American Independence War. The Canadians were very loayal to the Crown, and that is why they've been helping British Army whenever they could. The Americans won the war and declared their indepence from the Crown.
They founded a new country-‐ the USA. From now on the Americans and the Canadians shall be in very,very opponental relations. In 1812, the USA encouraged by Napoleon Bonaparte attacked south of Canada and burned a local parliament down. It was because Canada was strongly loyal subjugated to the British Crown, and Napoleon was the biggest British enemy. The British defended Canada, expanded their rule, and took revenge by burning whole of the Washington including the White House down. In 1867, Canada became the Dominion of Canada. Queen Victoria loved Canada, and she donated huge
amounts of money to build the Transcontinental Railway across the Dominion. When the railway discovered some new natural beauty by going west, they often gave it the name Victoria to dedicate it to the Queen. In 1914, Canada fought side by side with her Homeland-‐ Britain as a part of the British Global Empire agains German Empire. Canadian soldiers gained their glory in 2 battles of the Vimy ridge.After the war, Canada became very prosperate country. They felt the Global Crisis of 1929 in small amounts. In 1939, Canada, once again stood on the side of the Empire. They've been helping the Homeland in huge ship convoys across the risky Atlantic waters. They've shown their courage especially in 1944 in Normandy landings. In, and after the war, it became second wealthiest economy in the world. But they've never shown interest separate from Britain.That's why the British queen is also the Canadian queen. Today, Canada is the 2nd biggest country in the world with population of 30 million people. It's the 2nd biggest exporter of wheat and wood in the world. It's rich with gold,silver and oil and the first country in the world by water richness. But the main thing is that it's people are very diligent.
