AUDITION NOTICE
School of Rock: The Musical (Youth Production)Based on the Paramount Movie by Mike White

Audition Date: Saturday, January 7, 2017 - 10:00am-3:30pm, appointments and dance call every 30 minutes.
Appointments: Please e-mail the Production Assistant – Cayley Smith [email protected] - to book your time slot. Include your name, cell number, and what your time preference is. Responses will be sent within 48 hours.
Location: Theatre Arlington, 305 W Main St. Arlington TX 76010
Performance Schedule: February 17-March 5, 2017Fridays at 7:30pm
Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm Sundays at 2:00pm
Two school performances at Texas Hall: March 21-22 at 10:00am
Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Sunday, January 15 and will be weekday evenings and some Saturday mornings and afternoons. There will be a parent meeting at 6:00pm before the first rehearsal.
We Are Looking For: Youth Actors/Singers/Musicians for 57 roles Ages 10-18 Some roles require onstage playing of instruments Pit musicians-bass and electric guitars, keyboards, drums
ONLY
Audition Requirements: ACTORS will need to prepare: ~ 16 bars of a rock n’ roll song (no rap) ~ And a 1 minute monologue
~ There will also be a short dance combination to learn.
MUSICIAN Auditions: ~ Will consist of one prepared rock and roll piece and
sight reading from the show IMPORTANT: All actors who want to be considered for the
characters of Dewey, Zack, Lawrence, Freddy, or Katie MUST sign up for
both an acting and a musician time slot Please bring sheet music in the correct key Accompanist will be provided No a cappella auditions Headshots and resumes are encouraged Please be aware that there is some adult language
(PG-13) in this production
Story: Based on the cult film and with a rocking new score from Andrew Lloyd Webber, School of Rock follows slacker Dewey Finn as he turns a class of straight – A students into an ear-popping, riff-scorching, all-conquering rock band! As they prepare for the Battle of the Bands, can Dewey make them embrace the empowering message of rock?
