(Digital Audio Connection)
The digital audio output from a DVD connects into a Dolby® digital audio/video receiver. This allows the receiver to distribute the highest possible quality audio throughout the entire system. Most DVDs and Dolby® digital audio/video receivers will allow both Digital Optical (Toslink®) and Digital RCA connections. However, you may only USe one not both. In many cases, the performance is identical. However, Digital Optical has the advantage of no RF interference. With Digital RCA, it is argued to have the most true sound.Applicable to components without HDMI™ audio connections. For HDMI™ connections see panel “HDMI™ Digital Audio”. Digital Video Technology is becoming the industry standard for video signal transmission. Digital Video Technology involves the transmis-sion of television signals using digital rather than conventional analog methods. With the advancement in digital technology, digital video signals produce a razor sharp, high definition image compared to the conventional analog methods. DVI Video Cable and HDMI™ Audio/Video Cables are the two cable types that deliver pure digital signal.

What Type of Audio Cable Do I Need?
The choice of audio cables depend upon the Input/Output Jacks available on the Audio and Video System Components. The cables listed below are in descending order ranging from best to good.
HDMI™ Audio/Video Cable(High Definition Multi-Media Interface)• Transmits pure digital audio and video signal on
one cable• Provides the best detail and resolution, truest
color, and purest audio sound• For high definition TVs (HDTV) and digital flat
panel displays
Digital RCA Audio Cable (Orange)• Use for high quality digital audio connections• These hook-up connections are NOT available
on all components• Allows for digital audio multiple channels to be
transmitted through one cable• Provides the purest sound quality
Digital Toslink™ Optical Cable• Use for digital connections between digital
audio components, such as DVD players and digital audio receivers
• These hook-up connections are NOT available on all components• Provides a step-up in sound quality
Stereo Dual RCA Cables (Red & White)• Use with dual line audio connections• Home Stereo components will require RCA plugs• Provides basic analog connection(s) and sound
quality
RCA Subwoofer Cable• Subwoofer cables are specifically designed to
carry subwoofer frequencies below 80hz• Delivers clear, deep and dynamic bass• Ideal cable to connect a powered subwoofer to

Antenna Hook-Up to Basic Analog TV
The simplest video connection is to connect a TV to an antenna. The antenna receives an Over the Air (OTA) video broadcast signal. The antenna and the associated cables transport the video transmission signal from the antenna to the TV. Antennas are often located external to the building at the highest possible point. However, in areas of high signal penetration, indoor antennas may perform adequately.

Basic Cable Hook-Up to Basic Analog TV
Cable TV is delivered to a home or business by the Local Cable Provider. The signal is often delivered direct to a wall plate (A) or to a cable box (B). The cable box (B) is generally used when necessitated by the specific technology of your TV or VCR, or by the specific requirement of the cable provider.Required for these simple installations are 75 ohm coaxial cables (RG59/U or RG6/U).We recommend RG6/U for optimal performance and to “future proof” your installation.

• With diplexers, the key benefit is only one coaxial cable from the dish location to the receiver location.
• Use RG6/U or RG6/U Quad coaxial cable for all satellite connections.• For the best video connection use RGB Component Video Cables
(6 ft. – Vanco No.HTDV372 or 12 ft. – Vanco No. HTDV312) for the connection from the satellite receiver to the television.
• If RGB Component Video connections are not available on your satellite receiver, use the S-Video connections (6 ft. – Vanco No. HTSVHS6 or 12 ft. – Vanco No. HTSVHS12).
• Diplexers 3A0004 and 3A0005 should be indoors and not exposed to weather.
See www.vanco1.com for a listing of Vanco brand satellite accessories.

Satellite DVR to Basic Analog TV
Depending on inputs available on the TV, there are three options (three types of video cable) to connect DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to a satellite receiver and to a TV. Regarding DVR output to a TV, first inspect the back of the TV to determine the inputs available on the TV. There may be all three as described in the graphic below or there may only be one of the three. Option 1 is the most common of the three. Option 3 will provide the very best quality picture. We recommend using Option 3 if the input jacks are available.

SATELLITE RECEIVER
Dual LNB Dish with Multi-Switch and Diplexers
Multi-Switch (Vanco No. 3A0006) allows up to 4 receivers to be connected when using a Dual LNB Mini Dish. It allows antenna signals to be distributed to all four receivers. Antenna signals can be also be distributed to the same four satellite receivers by running cable from the antenna into the antenna input terminal of the multi-switcher. From the multi-switcher, non-amplified diplexers then separate the satellite signal and antenna signal to feed into the satellite receivers.
• Use RG6/U or RG6/U Quad for all satellite connections.• For best video connection, use RGB Component Video Cables (6 ft.
– Vanco No. DV372 or 12 ft. – DV312) for the video connection between the TV and satellite receiver.
• If RGB Component Video connections are not available, use S-Video Cables (6 ft. – Vanco No. SVHS6 or 12 ft. – SVHS12).
• Place multi-switch near the satellite dish and do not expose it to weather.
• Diplexers must be non-amplified (Vanco No. 3A0005) at the satellite receiver locations.
