Audience research, typical profile
My magazine is based around a R&B and dance genre of music. Of this genre the
stereotypes fit both girls and boys generally a younger audience of around 16-20, mainly students, this means this age group aren't
likely to have a job and if so not a lot of money and so my magazine must reflect that by being good value for the price and not too
expensive. The interests of the audience would be going out and listening to music, fashion normally
following trends of average high street brands e.g. New Look, Topshop/Topman and River
Island.
Listening to this kind of music generally reflects the audience’s personality and
interests. Using lyrics that the audience can relate to therefore having
artists/competitions and various other things included in the magazine that the audience
can relate to should be included
In magazine’s the audience would like to hear about upcoming events, gossip about artists in the genre R&B and dance also exclusive
interviews would interest them, also from my focus group I have fund that the audience like to see a main artist that dominates the cover this is something that influences them to buy
a magazine.
