IDIOSYNC Audience Feedback:NATHAN SHEPHARD:Good, elegant, bold title instantly grabbed my attention and good use of colour with a white background so it was very clear. Clear description on front cover of what’s going to be inside the magazine with bold, clear text easy to read with a white back-ground. Also good use of pictures on the second page with descriptions explaining the pictures with a rhetorical question engaging me to read on. Also gave me a clear understanding of what’s inside the magazine with all the acts which was very simple, but effective. Furthermore, with the addition of the URL and Twitter account of the magazine it makes it easily accessible for me to read on and importantly more editions to come. Also on page 3 good use of festival images to give the reader a visual image of what they’re reading along with a very detailed introduction of new pop start ZOE COWLING. Good choice of picture for the “upcoming star”. Along with this, the ‘save money’ logo is very effective as it gives the reader an idea to subscribe and therefore this can lead to more people buying and reading your magazine which is essential. Furthermore, on page 4 the title is bold and clear which made it very easy for me to understand what I was about to read. Due to the effectiveness of change in colour of text from the red to black this catches the eye and tempts be to read on. Also good use of colours throughout the article and very good detail with the inter-view and replies provided by the upcoming star. Also clear use of inverted commas so I can understand who’s speaking. In addi-tion, very precise statement with the first paragraph saying “Zoe Cowling is officially the hottest girl on the block” as this is very accurate and a true statement. With the shaded boxes at the bottom I was able to understand her response to some of the questions she was asked which was very effective. On page 5 with the images used of the upcoming role model was spaced out and placed very well on the page with very good choice of pictures as she looks

very attractive therefore engaging male readers to continue to read your article and magazine and importantly more editions to come. On page 6 it contains various images of Zoe which is effective as it reminds the reader of who they are reading about and also the layout is very effective with the black and white images surrounding the one coloured image. They are sized equally except the coloured image as this indicates the main picture on the page which is a very precise way to lay out the magazine page. On page 7 there are more pictures on the left hand side and this looks very at-tractive and clever for the reader to read as they get the initiative that they are not just looking at a page of text. This was easily appealing. Also good use of text with the bold quote in the middle which proves her tastes outside of her singing industry giving some information about her outside life. Also page 8 is a very attractive image of the superstar and was instantly appealing to the eye as the image is sized and placed perfectly in the middle of the page. Also on the final page of the article I like the way the text is shaped around the elbow and shoe of the image from the following page. As well as this, an insider to her album is a very effective way to finish the article off along with a pose in the top right corner of Zoe. Overall, the magazine is set out very well with the page numbers clear in the corner and easy to read. As well as this, the text is clear to read which is very simple to works and the images are placed and pre-sented very well across the entire article.

KIRSTIE GUILDFORD: Positive feedback - innovative magazine name and a clever colour scheme that makes your work look really professional. The sustained font throughout also adds to the magazine’s authenticity and I espe-cially like layout of your varied selection of pictures.for improvement - correct grammar on first page; it’s ‘who’ said I couldn’t make it, not ‘that’ love it clarey bear

NICK FORTELLA: the colour scheme is really effective, it conveys the genre of the magazine well, the spacing is well used and it looks really good. The pictures suit the genre of mag-azine, yet the some of the images on one page arent to the highest quality they could be... but other than that its really good and the name is awesome

TARA CAPLE: Memorable brand name with a consistent colour scheme that relates strongly to mu-sic and genre. double page contents page with lots of pictures make the work seem believable and professional as it has lots ar-ticles and interviews inside. The layout fol-lows the conventions of music magazines and has added extras of “what she says” so the reader feels they have a personal rela-tionship with the star. Very good!

ROBERTO MANFREDI: Front Cover: Good colour scheme and layout and has all the typical conventions of a magazine, also the rotated text fits with the image. The red text saying ‘festivals’ clashes with the colour of the hair underneath it.Contents: Picture of Amy is good and intriguing. List of bands and the pages you can find them on the left is good and clearly laid out, easy navigation. The overall layout is clear, readable and presentable. I like the curves around the edges of the pictures as it’s different to straight edges. Clear colour scheme and the social media links at the bottom stand out with the grey. Nothings really bad I don’t thin.Double Page Spread 1: Good layout, pull quote grabs your attention, good bold heading. Pictures are well cut out and layered, has the date and magazine name in the bottom right as well as clear page numbers. Continuous colour scheme too. Double Page Spread 2: Pictures in black and white makes the one in colour stand out and adds variation which is good. Again, good colour scheme,

layout, pull quote and magazine name etc at the bottom right. Double Page Spread 3: Good picture layout as it cuts into the other page and forces the text to go around it which looks good and adds interest to the magazine. If there was more text you could’ve kept it consistent and had it around every picture on the page. Good review thing in the bot-tom right at the end to end the article and summarise as well as the ‘signature thing’. Yet again good layout, colour scheme and has all the stuff in the bottom right again.

SIOBHAN ARNOLDI really like your front cover and the image you’ve used. I think it looks really good where you have the red text, colour picking from your models top. The two colours of black and red make the overall image of the front cover stand out a lot aswell! The fact that your house colour has been carried out throughout your magazine is really effective especially how it matches the shoes your model is wearing in one of your double page spread. My favourite part of your magazine is the structure. I think the images have been placed really well around the text and over-all has a really high standard to it.

ANDY TAYLORthat’s actually so sickcouple of things I would do thoughcontents page needs a lit-tle more to help it look organisedlike youve got the lines for the columns in the middle, and you could add them to the rest of the columns to even it up a bitand in the article i think the pull quotes need a tiny bit more space on each sideto separate them from the text AMY WICHELOW The magazine has a very realistic look to it which makes it look professional and like those on the shelves these days. Firstly from the front cover you can immediately tell that it is a music magazine. The mast-head “Idiosync” is clear and bold and tells

the reader straight away that this is the title of the magazine. The house style of reds, whites and blacks ties in all the text and images together as one and makes it look solid. The contents page is very well designed, the layout is very consistent and doesn’t look too busy which is sometimes hard to avoid when creating a contents page and trying to fit in all the necessary content. The images counter-act the text and balance out how much the reader takes in. The images are a variety of differ-ent shots which shows a multiple amount of thought went into consideration when creating this page. The use of a double page adds the knowledge of skill to the project and allows the creator to include a higher amount of content. The on going colour scheme continues throughout. All 3 dou-ble page spreads look very realistic with a number of different photos being used. This meant that Clare had taken her pho-toshoot very seriously and utilised all lthe equipment available for her. The colour scheme is still present which ties the whole magazine together as one. Overall I think the magazine includes all the necessary content and key concepts which would make successful in the music magazine market. If I were to give Clare an improve-ment to the magazine it would be to maybe add more pull quotes in the double page spreads to break pu the text a bit more. This is a minor change which wouldn’t change the overall success of the magazine but is the only possible criticism I could give. Very well done xox

JAKE JOSLING Pictures are professional and well presentedThe contents page is very text heavy and doesn’t appear to have a clear order to it.

BECCA HANINGTON The front cover image works very effectively and is eye catching so it would draw in readers if they were looking at it in a shop. All the pho-tos look very proferssional and are appropriate for the magazine genre.
