Page 2: Audience Feedback

Once I created my questionnaire for the evaluation of my Media

Product, I then handed it out to 10 different people within my

target audience criteria to see what they through about my media

product and then from these results I can collate and summarise

the results collectively and draw conclusions of this data.

I documented the results into Microsoft Excel and created Pie

charts to see the different %’s of data and see the overall verdict

of my media product.

Q1. Gender

50%50%Male

Female

When creating my question I

wanted to hand my questionnaire

out 50/50, to both male and female

audiences, this way I can see what

both males and females think of my

media product with out bias and so

I get clear, precise feedback from

my audience. 10 people were

given a questionnaire, 5 males and

5 females to make sure I get

accurate results and also because

my intended target audience was

for both female and male

audiences so by letting a 50/50

share do the questionnaire it will be

more accurate and relate to my

target audience.

Q2. Age

When Randomly selecting people to take part in my questionnaire I wanted to evaluate where within my target audience are the readers more prominent and common.

From these results a clear 80% of my target audience who took part and are in my target audience are 16-18 years old.

This is the lower section of my 16-25 target audience, therefore I have come to the conclusion that 16-18 year olds would be more likely to buy the magazine than the other 20% of 19-21 year olds. This maybe due to the content within the magazine as more younger audiences like rock /indie music or that the magazine was more eye catching to the 16-18 year olds within my target audience age category.

Q3. What age group do you think this

magazine is aimed for? When devising this question, I was intrigued to

know from my target audience what their opinion was and what they truly and honestly thought about who this magazine was aimed at.

I wanted to know this information as I wanted to make sure they think that my media product was successful in aiming the magazine within/ or partially within my target audience.

Finally, when the data was collated and summarised, a clear 90% of the questionnaire participants said they thought my magazine was aimed at 13-19 year olds, the 16-19 year olds within the given answer is the lower half of my intended audience and therefore I have concluded that my magazine has been successful but only aimed successfully at half of my intended target audience age category. However, 10% believed it was for the higher end of my age category of 20+, if I had taken more questionnaire data perhaps this would have changed my results and more people would have said 20+ but for the data I've collected, its clear the audience believe its for 13-19 year olds.

When creating this question, I wanted

to be 100% sure that the target

audience believe my magazine is

appealing to them, this would then

ultimately give me a straight answer as

to where my magazine has been

successful and could potentially be a

professional media product.

When the data was collected, I was

very happy to discover that 100% of

questionnaire participants found that

my magazine was appealing to

them, this then not only means that

they’d read it, but they’d find it

appealing if it was published and

produced and sold within shops and

would be successful within the media

industry.

Q5. Do the colours used within the

colour scheme of this magazine

appeal to you? When devising this question I wanted

to ensure that the colour scheme that I

used from researching the market and

also the colours that my target

audience liked the most from my

audience research was acceptable

and was to their standards and liked

them within the house style and colour

scheme within my magazine.

As you can see, a clear 100% agreed

that the colours appealed to them

making an overall successful

magazine.

Q6. Does the main cover image

grab your attention?

I wanted too make sure that the images

I had taken within the production of my

magazine were professional and that

they attracted their attention.

Again, a clear 100% of the target

audience said that they thought it

successfully grabbed their

attention, this is probably due to the

effects added during production and the

direct mode of address on the male

artists on the cover, as when

researching the market, every

magazine I reached, ever cover star

had direct mode of address to grab the

attention of their target audience, this is

what I planned and the outcome has

been 100% successful.

Q7. What is the best feature on the

magazine?

When creating my evaluation questionnaire I wanted to see what feature my target audience favoured the most on my cover page out of the Mast Head, Cover Image, Incentives, Fonts and cover lines.

With a clear 60% the cover image was voted the best feature on the cover image, this is possibly linked to Q8, second best voted feature with 30% was the cover lines on the cover page, this maybe due to the vibrant colour of texts or the content within the cover lines, the 3rd most popular feature was the incentive on my skyline.

The images are a key part of the magazine to me and I wanted to make sure images were perfect

I wanted to make sure that with my

magazine, that it wasn’t over crowded, it

was eye catching but easy to navigate, not

information every where with no read

structure to my magazine that the readers

can follow and that also followed my house

style.

100% of questionnaire participants agreed

that the format and structure of my

magazine is easy to understand and

navigate, this implies and shows that I have

been successful in generating a successful

magazine that is easy to read, has a clear

structure and not over facing.

Q13. What Is the best feature on

the contents page?

I was interested to find out what the questionnaire participants thought was the best feature on my contents page as the contents page was the page that took the longest to produce so after collating the results I was keen to see the result as I took the time to emphasise features and images to make it as eye catching and unique as possible to challenge codes and conventions.

40% agreed that the colour scheme was the best feature throughout my contents page, when completing audience research, the colour question and its data has definitely benefited as I chose the overall favourite colour and the audience now have voted it as the top feature, the 2nd best voted feature was the articles, after market and article research I created unique and diverse articles to inform readers and promote different bands and the 3rd most voted with 30% structure and layout, this links to the previous feature, again its easy to navigate as I wanted to ensure the readers had an enjoyable and fun read, not to be over faced by imagery and information.

Q14. What is your opinion on the

images used on the double page

Q15. Is the structure Easy to read/

understand?

For my magazine to be successful and enjoyable I wanted to ensure that my magazine was easy to read and understand, if it wasn’t therefore it wouldn’t be successful at its job as this media product and therefore wouldn’t generate profit within the media industry.

100% of the questionnaires stated that they agreed it was easy to read and understand, this I probably due to the clear column format, images set to both sides and clear information given and the blue box with low opacity so text is more visible and understandable.
