Age RangeThe age range is the age of the target audience in which the magazine is addressed towards them.

The target audience age range for my music magazine is fourteen to seventeen year olds.

My reason for this choice, is that in my self explanatory I believe that my magazine wouldn’t suit the age range of older children, but young adults/teens who are turning into mature adults. This will show in the main article, as a music star will be exclusively revealing the difficulties of fame and how young adults should not rely on fame just to be success.

Also my magazine will share a lot of celebrity gossip relation in which it won’t be entirely false, but there will be things that young teens can relate to.

Since young adults are working and are getting an income of money, they would be able to buy my magazine for good purposes. Hopefully the genre I choose for my magazine will be something that most teen/young adults like.

GenderThe gender is the male or female target audience that a magazine company may target there magazine issues at.

The gender for my music magazine will be aimed at both the male and female genders.

My reason for this decision is that I want to include features that will aim at both the male and female target audience in which it will features article that either gender can relate in their own perspective, but since my article is based on a female celebrity it may be targeted more to the female gender target audience

In my research, I found out that articles and features have a tendency to base the features of their magazine issue on the domination of male/female prototypes.

The main reason for the appeal being to both genders of male and female is the main image on the front cover. The main image on the front cover is going be a famous female music artist who has gained worldwide fame in which the male target audience will find her extremely attractive due to her beautiful features and girls will aspire to be like her due to her star persona. With the music star revealing her true self in an article, it will show that she’s not that perfect stereotype that everyone assumes she is, so then this will be a main headline for male but mostly female genders to buy this magazine.

Social ClassSocial Class comes under the stereotypes that magazine institutions target the magazine towards. Even though this happens in some cases, magazine institutions have to be aware that certain stereotypes in different social classes may not look at the magazine that they produce.

For example, if there is a man or woman from a high social class society, that doesn’t mean that he may read a music magazine issue that has the genre of Hip Hop because he or she may not like that sort of genre. They may want to look at an magazine issue of rock, classical or indie. It all depends on the different stereotypes that clash with the social class.

So that why for magazine institutions, it’s quite difficult to target members of the social class society, because they are all different stereotypes.

My music magazine is not entirely targeted at a social class range, but seeks the social class of teenagers and young adults who are looking for jobs in which it helps them be entitled to an income.

PyschographicsPsychographics is a way of splitting a market into different groups according to the attitude towards the ideal target audience.

The ‘graphics’ depend on the type of market that is being promoted on mainly focused on. This is where ‘graphics’ links into ‘pyscho-graphics’ because this is where the market can be split into numerous groups so that they can have detailed methods on what they’re about.

There are huge list of groups such as:

•Succeeders•Reformers•Aspirers•Mainstreamers•Strivers•Constrained•Explorers

Each of these groups have different meanings to them which represent the different standards of pyscho-graphics.
