CONDITIONS OF SALE

The following Conditions of Sale are the complete terms and conditions by which all property listed in this catalog shall be off ered and sold by SCI-OC:

1. All goods off ered for sale have been acquired or obtained by SCI-OC from third parties. Purchaser acknowledges that goods have not been inspected by SCI-OC and is advised, in the case of fi re-arms or other weapons, to secure a competent inspection and test before use. The goods off ered for sale are sold “as is,” without any express or implied warranties on the part of SCI-OC. Any writ-ten warranties delivered to purchaser are those solely of the manufacturer of same.

2. All services off ered for sale have been acquired and are to be furnished by third parties. They will not be performed by SCI-OC. SCI-OC shall bear no responsibility for the delivery or quality of any such services or for any loss or damage arising from, related to, or connected with, the perfor-mance or nonperformance of such services.

3. SCI-OC has endeavored to catalog and describe correctly the property to be sold, but all property is sold “as is” and SCI-OC shall in no event be responsible for the correctness of description, genu-ineness or authorship, provenance or condition of said property and no statement made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty, representation or assumption of li-ability. Prospective bidders should inspect the property before bidding to determine its condition.

4. Unless otherwise announced by the auctioneer at the time of sale, all bids are per lot as numbered in the printed catalog. The auctioneer, at the time of the sale, may correct the description or the contents of the lot; that description will constitute the item being sold and will supersede any previous description in the catalog.

5. SCI-OC reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, subject to the Conditions of Sale. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to determine the successful bidder, and his determination shall be fi nal; or the auctioneer, at his discretion, may re-off er and resell the article in dispute at any time prior to the conclusion of the auction. If any dispute arises after the sale, SCI-OC sale record shall be conclusive as to who was the purchaser.

6. Any bid which is not commensurate with the value of the article off ered, or which is merely a nominal or fractional advance over the previous bid, may be rejected by the auctioneer at his dis-cretion. If the auctioneer, at his sole and fi nal discretion, decides that any original bid is not com-mensurate with the value of the article off ered, or having acknowledged an original bid, that any advance thereafter is not of suffi cient amount, he may reject the same.

7. Except as herein otherwise provided, the title will pass to the highest bidder upon the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer; thereafter, the property is at the purchaser’s sole risk and responsibility. In any dispute as to the amount of bid, the records of SCI-OC shall be accepted by the bidder as fi nal and correct.

8. All items purchased are to be paid for in full at the end of the evening.

Good luck and thank you for your support,

Jim Dahl, SCI-OCFundraiser Chairman

SOME SPECIAL NOTES ONOUR HUNTS & TRIPs

1. Upgrading your hunt, while not required, is certainly appreciated by our donors. If you don’t want to add additional game animals, consider bringing along a friend. This helps out the outfi tters contrib-uting to our cause. With few exceptions, our donors are not wealthy philanthropists, but rather, they donate to help wildlife and generate new business for themselves. Please do what you can to help!

2. If you are a booking agent and plan on possibly reselling the hunt that you purchase tonight, please be advised that this practice is extremely unpopular with our donors and may lead to

problems. We strongly recommend that you avoid this practice.3. If you buy a hunt that the donor fails to provide for you, through no fault of your own, we will make arrangements for a replacement hunt, or we will refund the purchase price. If you simply fi nd it

inconvenient to go on the dates available, or change your mind for some reason, then we will assist you in trying to locate someone to take the hunt off your hands, but we make no promises. We may not be able to accommodate your wishes. Basically, if you buy the hunt, it is yours.

4. Diff erent hunts require diff erent things, such as room, board, transportation, etc. Please read the descriptions carefully. As a general rule, hunting licenses are not included. These can cost up to several hundred dollars in some cases.

5. We do our best to solicit donated hunts only from competent outfi tters. However, we do not guarantee the quality or success on any hunt purchased at this auction.6. All of this said, it is important to note that most hunts bought at our auction go very well, with both the donor and the buyer being well satisfi ed.7. Lastly, please report the results of your donated hunt to the fundraiser chairman. We are all very

interested in knowing how it went.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members and Friends of the Safari Club International Orange County Chapter:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the membership, we are very excited to welcome you to our 26th Annual Fundraiser and Auction for an evening of fellowship and fun with both old and new friends as we raise money to fund our future achievements.

We are making every eff ort possible to ensure that this event will provide an evening of enjoyment for all those who attend. We would also like to raise as much as possible to further humanitarian needs, educational opportunities, and conservation causes within the local community, as well as the international community via Safari Club International.

We would like to provide a little background and further detail. It is the place in Orange County to participate with other like minded hunters in sharing experiences, fellowship and hunting and travel knowledge. We are also very active in actions to further the cause of hunters and sustainable wildlife conservation. Chapter projects include a Mobile Sensory Safari Van, a Safari In A Box program, Sportsman Against Hunger program, Youth Safari Day, and numerous building and/or repair projects that support wildlife and habitat renewal. The Chapter has also been a long time supporter of the American Wilderness Leadership School (A.W.L.S.) program that sends teachers to SCI’s Granite Ranch near Jackson Hole, Wyoming to learn about the true role that hunters play in wildlife conservation, sustainable resources and habitat renewal.

We encourage you to support the Chapter’s projects by supporting our event. If you are not a member of our Chapter, we encourage you to join. If you are a new member to our Chapter, welcome!

Thank you to all of those who have made this event possible. It takes hours and hours and hours to put this event together, and our volunteers deserve a big thank you!

Good hunting,

Jim DahlPresident and Fundraiser Chairman
