The protection of valuable natural products, such as wicker and rattan, has traditionally been recognised by HANSEN as its respon-sibility for a number of decades. As recognised experts, HANSEN works actively in the countries of origin with projects such as the
cultivation of rattan and willow plantations and contributes its knowledge to sustainability through naturally growing raw materi-als. In addition, HANSEN is involved in the establishment of weav-ing companies as well as the cultivation of material for weaving. All this with the goal of creating regular and sustainable income, especially for women in rural areas of developing countries.
