1. What is the GP-25/27?
The GP-25 and GP-27 are small color touch screen chart plotters designed for Asian
market to meet local demands, such as local language, reasonable price, detailed chart,
etc. Touch screen operation is a trend in our life and gives you an intuitive operation.
The main target is customers who use our GP-32. As you know, the GP-32 has had a
remarkable success in Asian market for a long time, but, today, a chart on a plotter must
be essential since it will give additional information such as depth contour, chart object
like light house, etc. This information will help vessel operation.
Following shows you sizes of GP-25 and GP-27. As you can see, the sizes are very
small and thin, which make it easy to take it home from the vessel.

5. Built in Internal GPS Built-in GPS/WAAS antenna gives easy and flexible installation. The GP-25/27 has a built-in internal GPS antenna at upper side of them. It is recommended to install the GP-25/27 near window with internal GPS antenna in a direction toward outside of the window for ease of receiving GPS signal We have tested the internal GPS antenna in our test boat, Pegasus and a fishing vessel in Vietnam. Picture 1 shows Pegasus. In Pegasus, the GP-25/27 was installed on front of upper deck, console and salon to confirm if internal GPS worked properly though it took 5 minutes to detect satellites. Picture 2 was taken on a wooden fishing vessel with iron roof in Vietnam. It took about 7-8 minutes to detect GPS signal, but finally the GP-25 or GP-27 could work without using external GPS antenna GPA-017. As you can see from the picture 2, the internal GPS antenna is pointing in a direction toward outside of the window which helped receiving GPS signal even under the iron roof. When satellite signal is not received due to installation condition, optional GPS antenna unit GPA-017 can be used.

6. Touch screen
The GP-25 and GP-27 employs “Pressure sensitive panel” so that they can work with
duty/wet finger. This is totally different from the ones on tablet PC or smart device.
“Pressure sensitive panel” does not react to static electricity but to press down onto the
outer surface, such as a fingertip with/without gloves or Stylus pen, as per the picture
below. For your information, the capacitance touch panels for tablet PC or smart device
react to a static electricity between panel and finger. This panel is adopted on the TZT.
