Because of their lack of funding they we’re really restricted in what they could do.

Convergence in Super 8

Super 8 realised two trailers on YouTube one with 9m and the other 8m viewers. Trailer was also published on TV.

They promoted their film on Facebook and other social websites.

Super 8 did a film4 interview for promotion for their film.

A Comparison Between The Two

Overall Super 8 made more money then Attack the Block.

Super 8 had a bigger budget and more publicity and advertisement they were also supported by bigger company's then attack the block.

Attack the block had a lot more company's supporting it because of its lack of finance.

Super 8 realised two trailers adding up to 17m views on YouTube whereas attack the block on got 3.

Super8 higher budget film therefore better special effects more advertisement got the money to get the best actors have all the best equipment whereas attack the block didn’t have these advantages.

The Benefits of Convergence in Films.

The benefits of convergence is the film gets more advertisement. So viewers will see the trailers and want to see the film.

Games released and movie sound tracks of the film again to promote the film to make more money.

Famous songs used in trailers again for promotion.

Clothes of film characters realised for more money etc.

The Benefits of Synergy in Films.

Other company's help with the finances of the film so it’s budget is increased making the film better quality.

The film company and another company e.g. McDonalds both advertise each other so they both help each other out.

Interviews can be done from actors on famous movie channels example Film4 to advertise their film.

Without synergy the fans wouldn’t benefit from the products etc.
