LEADING REGENERATION Atraumatic Regenerative Therapy for Predictable Implant and Restorative Outcomes Lecture and Hands-on Course Presenter: Dr John Giblin Date: Friday 15 th February 2013 What to do when teeth fail? Failure of restored teeth is becoming more prevalent within our patient population. Knowing how to offer treatment plans and gain patient approval for selected options is becoming a vital part of practice. Patients trust their dentist and would rather be treated ‘in house’, than referred elsewhere; especially when their failed dentition needs urgent attention. Take home techniques for atraumatic tooth removal and tissue regeneration will be taught at this seminar. Participants will learn about the instrumentation and materials necessary to achieve adequate tissue regeneration for either future implant or pontic site development. This seminar aims to teach dynamic methods which will maximise patients’ outcomes, and participants treatment options.

GBR Hands-on CourseGBR and implant placement with membranes and meshes in the atrophic ridges.

Presenter: Prof. Carlo Maiorana (Italy)

The use of biomaterials in implantology is nowadays a very common procedure, since the concept of prosthetically guided implantology has been introduced in the daily practice. Peri-implant bony defects, vertical and horizontal bone ridge augmentation can be performed with bone substitutes in association with autogenous chips and membranes, without forgetting that an accurate soft tissue management has to be carried out in order to guarantee a final good aesthetic result. Clinical cases of the treatment of the different defects will be shown in the light of the current literature trends followed by a hands-on part where participants have the possibility to practice the presented treatment concepts on pig’s mandibles.
