eczema: A CHRONIC DISEASERefers to several different skin swelling conditionsIt is referred to as dermatitisThe most common type of eczema is Atopic Dermatitis which occurs as a response to an allergic reactionUsually occurs in babies and children but can happen to ANYONEIt usually occurs in people who live in dry and urban climateSometimes, atopic dermatitis may develop into asthma and hay fever or it may improve and go away.You cant catch the disease or spread it.
THE CAUSE OF atopic dermatitisThough the exact cause is not known, but it is likely caused by both genetic and environmental factors.However there are many different symptoms that can occur and to find that out: Doctors will ask questions to:Learn about your symptomsKnow when symptoms occurEliminate out other diseasesFigure out the roots of your symptomsFind out whether other family members with allergiesAsk whether the patient has been around something that may seem irritating

Types of DermatitisAllergic Contact Dermatitis results from direct contact with allergenIrritant Contact Dermatitis develops when the skin comes into contact with an irritantNeurodermatitis develops due to repeated scratching and usually occurs in the scalp, neck or wrist.Perioral Dermatitis occurs around the mouth but can also affect the area around the nose, cheeks, and eyes.Seborrheic Dermatitis is usually found on oily areas of the body such as the face and upper chestStasis Dermatitis occurs when varicose veins or other symptoms causes the build up of fluids in the lower legs which causes swelling and itching
