    SAFETY SUMMARY

CAUTIONS The ATN PVS-7 is a precision optical instrument and should behandled carefully to prevent its damage. Do not scratch the external lens surfaces or touch them with yourfingers. To protect the image intensifier, keep the lens cap on the objec-tive lens on when the device is not in use or when it is checked outin daylight conditions. The IR illuminator produces a light that is invisible to a nakedeye for use in conditions of extreme darkness. However, this IRlight can be detected by somebody else who use a night vision

device. If you use the rubber eyecups for a long time period, you maysuffer from skin inflammation. If you find any symptoms, consult adoctor immediately.

This producT conTains naTural rubber laTex which

    may cause allergic reacTions.

    CAUTION:

NOTES Do not test the device in daylight conditions even with the day-light filter/lens cap on for more than ten (10) minutes. To protect the device from damage do not direct it to the brightlight sources (a fire, headlights of the automobile, lanterns, etc.).

The purpose of the built-in IR illuminator is to view at close dis-tances up to 3 meters when additional illumination is needed. The unit is equipped with the Automatic Shut-off System. Thissystem tracks when the unit is not used (the controls are nottouched for 60 minutes continuous) and shuts the unit off auto-matically.To turn the unit on after automatic shut off, you need to rotate theoperation knob to the OFF position first and then to the ON posi-

    tion.

NOTEThe compass reading is the magnetic North, not true North. Thecompass reading is within 2 of correct absolute magnetic bearing.Compass readings with a mounted PVS-7 (head mount or helmetmount) can be up to 15 of correct absolute, magnetic bearing. This occurs most in the East (90) to West (270) and less in theNorth (0) to South (360) reading. If the compass is inadvertentlymagnetized this could cause an additional 15 error.
