1990: Black Cab Style Meters

In 1990, Atlas Cars of London was the first to

introduce meters in its cabs. The initiative,

launched purely to offer transparent mechanism

to customers for calculating their fare. It was an

initiative that created great stir in the market

and was thought of as a bold move by a minicab

2006: Hybrid Cars Introduced

In 2006, considering carbon footprint as an

important consideration of corporate social

responsibility, Atlas Cars added several Toyota

Prius Hybrid to its pool of vehicles. It was the

first for any minicab company working in West

London and a trend setter.

In 2013, with fast changing minicab industry and

technology at its center, Atlas Cars introduced

its own smartphone application. The minicab

app offers many features one of which is to

allow passengers to book their cab without the

need to texting, calling or emailing.
