    * 1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS************************************************************

    1. The system must contain one of the following Intel Chipsets:

    Intel (R) E7221 Chipset

    2. There must be sufficient hard disk space in the directory on the system to install this software.

    The drivers included with this distribution package are designed to function with released versions of Microsoft Windows* 2000 and Windows* 2003 Enterprise.

    Please check with your system provider to determine theoperating system and Intel Chipset used in your system.

    ************************************************************* 2. INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE************************************************************

    General Installation Notes:

    1. The operating system must be installed prior to the installation of the driver.

    2. This installation procedure is specific only to theversion of driver and installation file included in this

    release.

    3. This procedure assumes that all of the software associated with this release is located in the same directory.

    Archive Extraction--------------------------------------------

    To install from the Web, you will download either a ZIP fileor an EXE file.

    a. EXE file: Double-click the file you downloaded andspecify a location into which the driver files will beextracted. Click "Unzip" and the files will extract.

    Click "OK" on the next window, then click "Close".

    b. ZIP file: Unzip the archive using a utility such as WinZip*

    or PKZip*. (NOTE: Unzip with the directory structure intact.)

    Driver Installation-------------------------------------------------

    Either:

    Navigate to the directory the archive files were ex- tracted to and double-click "Setup.exe"

    OR

    Click on Start -> Run and enter the path (or browse) to the directory the archive files were extracted to and select "Setup.exe". Then click "OK".

    ************************************************************* 3. VERIFYING INSTALLATION OF THE SOFTWARE************************************************************1. Double Click on the "My Computer" icon, then double click on the "Control Panel" icon, and then double click on the "System" icon.

    2. Click on "Hardware" Tab and select "device manager". Click on the "Display Adapters" icon. The Intel Graphics Driver should be listed. If not, the driver is not installed correctly. To check the version of the driver, refer to the section below.

    ************************************************************* 4. IDENTIFYING THE SOFTWARE VERSION NUMBER

    ************************************************************

    1. Double Click on the "My Computer" icon, then double click on the "Control Panel" icon, and then double click on the "Display" icon.

    2. Select the "Settings" tab and then click on the "Advanced" button.

    3. Select the "Adapter" tab.

    4. Select the "Properties" button.

    5. Select the "Driver" tab. The graphics driver versionshould be listed on this screen. This is the driver fileversion and may differ from the build revision displayed inthis readme and in the release notes.

    LICENSE. This Software is licensed for use only inconjunction with Intel component products. Use of theSoftware in conjunction with non-Intel component products isnot licensed hereunder. You may copy the Software onto yourorganization's computers for your organization's use in testingand evaluating the software only, and you may makea reasonable number of back-up copies of the Software,subject to these conditions:

    1. You may not copy, modify, rent, sell, distributeor transfer any part of the Software, except asprovided in this Agreement, and you agree toprevent unauthorized copying of the Software.

The Softwareis copyrighted and protected by the laws of the United Statesand other countries, and international treaty provisions. Youmay not remove any copyright notices from the Software. Intel

    may make changes to the Software, or to items referenced therein,at any time and without notice, but is not obligated to supportor update the Software. Except as otherwise expressly provided,Intel grants no express or implied right under Intel patents,copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights.You may transfer the Software only if the recipient agrees tobe fully bound by these terms and if you retain no copies ofthe Software.

    LIMITED MEDIA WARRANTY. If the Software has been delivered byIntel on physical media, Intel warrants the media to be freefrom material physical defects for a period of (90) ninety daysafter delivery by Intel. If such a defect is found, return the

    media to Intel for replacement or alternate delivery of theSoftware, as Intel may select.

    EXCLUSION OF OTHER WARRANTIES. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE,THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS ORIMPLIED WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OFMERCHANTABILITY, NONINFRINGEMENT OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULARPURPOSE. Intel does not warrant or assume responsibility forthe accuracy or completeness of any information, text, graphics,links or other items contained within the Software.

    LIMITATION OF LIABILITY.     TERMINATION OF THIS AGREEMENT. Intel may terminate this Agreementat any time if you violate its terms. Upon termination, you willimmediately destroy the Software or return all copies of theSoftware to Intel.APPLICABLE LAWS. Claims arising under this Agreement shall begoverned by the laws of California, excluding its principles ofconflict of laws and the United Nations Convention on Contractsfor the Sale of Goods. You may not export the Software in violationof applicable export laws and regulations. Intel is not obligatedunder any other agreements, unless they are in writing and signedby an authorized representative of Intel.

    GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software is provided with"RESTRICTED RIGHTS." Use, duplication or disclosure by theGovernment is subject to restrictions as set forth inFAR52.227-14 and DFAR252.227-7013 et seq. or their successors.Use of the Software by the Government constitutes acknowledgmentof Intel's proprietary rights therein.
