1. Product solution overview
The ATI docQmanager suite of software is a highly adaptable family of software modules for addressing a wide range
of print management workflow requirements within both corporate office MFP systems and production print,
whether that is IT production printing or an in-house reprographics print room.
Because the functionality of the product suite spans the office and production print environments it provides an
extremely valuable component for supporting the concept of Managed Print Services (MPS) in any organisation. It is
ideal for medium to large organisations which have office pull printing systems along with in-house reprographics
print rooms. Designed to integrate with leading third party cost recovery systems, including Equitrac, Pcounter,
PaperCut, Safecom and YSoft, it is particularly powerful where print cost accounting is required, such as found in
education, municipal offices for local government, law firms and some corporates.
This core product functionality is additionally enhanced by two further separate modules, one for rules based network
printing (docQrules) and the other for variable data forms output management (docQforms) which very effectively
uses the simplicity and power of Microsoft Word as its formatting tool.
2. Product solution Value Proposition
The docQmanager suite of products delivers operational efficiencies to print job output management in a range of
functions. These can include:
IT data-centre printing with print queue management and automated job workflow as well as variable data output formatting. In-plant reprographic print rooms providing output management within the print room along with electronic job ticketing for remote print job submission, management of hard copy photocopy jobs and the provision of miscellaneous supplies by way of a “shop” feature option.
Convergent scenarios where organisations seek to rationalise print operations by merging IT data-centre and reprographics print functions. Enhanced office pull printing (known as OneQ printing) with a job ticket acting like an intelligent universal driver with print rules to direct jobs to the office pull printing system or to the central in-house print room as appropriate.. Standard network print server rules printing such as simply controlling email printing, decolourising print jobs, forcing duplex and economy modes, etc.
Special print applications through customisation of the powerfully configurable products, combined with bespoke programming if required.
In all these areas workflow processes may be automated and disciplines enforced to enhance procedures, reduce
print costs, help meet print deadlines, save business operations staff time and avoid cost of errors.

3. Product suite modules
3.1. A brief description of the core product and other modules .
docQmanager
The core product providing simple to use and powerful production print queue management with “hold & release” functionality for IT variable data business application printing as well as Central Reprographics Department/Print on Demand type operations.
Optional add-on modules
docQview PCL Postscript
The base docQmanager product provides job preview and page reprint functionality for native Windows data format. These two snap-in module options (one for PCL and the other for Postscript) provide the same added functionality for print data streams that are PCL or PostScript encoded
docQticket server & clients
For remote submission of jobs to a central print room with an electronic job ticket, using either simple “file/print” from the application or “web to print” file upload. This module also provides for management of hand carried “hardcopy” jobs using the same electronic job ticket for control.
OneQ server Used instead of and replaces the standard docQticket server in a OneQ system to provide the OneQ job ticket form and functionality for configuring the OneQ rules process. Standard job ticket client licenses are added as required in the same way as for standard job ticketing.
OneQ connector
Required only for OneQ systems. A connector module needs to be installed on each “pull print” system network server to provide OneQ functionality with job ticketing.
docQcollate An add-on module to docQticket client which enables multiple separate jobs to be collated and submitted under the control of a single job ticket. (Note: Not currently available for OneQ systems)
docQsplit Separates colour pages from black and white pages within a ticketed print job and automatically routes the colour pages to a colour device and the non colour pages to a monochrome printer to help increase productivity and save cost. (Note: Not currently available for OneQ systems)
docQforms Variable data formatting software providing automated variable forms output applied to flat host system data with forms created using the simplicity of Microsoft® Word©.
Complementary product to docQmanager suite
docQrules Enterprise edition
A separate and distinct product from docQmanager, which runs as a service on network print servers to police who prints what where and provide rules based printing. With its Advanced Mode feature it is also an extremely valuable tool for addressing special situations which require conditional print job modification. (See Appendix for a range of examples)
docQrules SMB edition
The Small / Medium Business edition of docQrules, which is limited to 15 queues and has no Advanced Mode, provides a simple solution for basic cost cutting on network printing, e.g. de-colourising and limiting email pages printed.

3.2 How the components typically sit within an organisation
The docQmanager core product and docQrules are separate and distinct print queue management
products which can stand alone in their own right and be used to meet a wide range of print output control
needs in different environments. (See the variety of case study examples listed in the Appendix). The
diagram below outlines all the ATI software modules and how they may typically fit together as a whole
integrated solution for an organisation with an in-house reprographics / print room and departmental
network with a “pull print” system and job cost recovery.
9999999999999999
The diagram illustrates:
docQrules - as a stand alone item on the departmental network print server applying rules to
modify or route jobs
docQforms – providing variable forms output of flat host system data from line of business
applications
docQmanager – in the print room managing output of IT transactional jobs and ticketed document
jobs with reporting back into a cost recovery system
docQview & docQsplit – as add-on options for the print room giving PCL & Postscript job preview
and colour split of jobs within docQmanager
docQticket & docQcollate - controlling remote submission of document jobs via “file/print” or web
browser upload. Hand carried hardcopy jobs may also be managed by docQticket.
OneQ printing - an enhanced version of docQticket job submission whereby print rules are
incorporated within the job ticket to act like an intelligent universal print driver to front all
print jobs going to the Pull Print system and the Print Room. (See Section 7.2.)

4. Some key features Some key features of the ATI software suite are:
Open system functionality The ATI solution is an “open system” which works with any MS Windows supported device, thus protecting the interest of end users by providing flexibility in the choice of hardware and avoiding the risks of “lock-in“ to any one MFD manufacturer when it comes to equipment renewal. Works with documents and transactional data The core queue management system accommodates both document jobs and transactional variable data jobs allowing convergence of those two functions in the print room. Seamless integration with accounting software A standard feature of the software is its seamless integration with Equitrac, PaperCut, PCounter, SafeCom, or YSoft cost recovery software systems to provide full integrity of accounting across the network and through to the print room, with the added advantage that finishing costs and any other off-line print room costs may be included and automatically accounted for within the same accounting system. Readily customisable The print room user interface may be readily configured to match operators’ preferences for layout and content, while a powerful on board scripting feature enables automated workflows and user notifications to be tailored to needs. Job ticket formats may be selected and themed to match corporate styles.
Simplicity The software is simple to install and simple to operate with a familiar Windows “look and feel” and simple “drag and drop” functionality; consequently initial training and retraining costs are minimised.

5. Benefits for the reseller
5.1. General reseller benefits
ATI software gives resellers a software solution suite which:
Provides support for Managed Print Services (MPS) projects - spanning the office and production print
environments, the ATI suite presents the reseller a valuable software toolbox for supporting the provision of
MPS.
Helps response to tenders - being a broad and adaptable suite of products, providing plenty of scope for
customisation where demanded, it helps resellers tick all the boxes on invitation to tender documents.
Builds additional revenues – creates new revenues for resellers from professional services and recurring annuity
income from maintenance.
Aids customer retention – through the reseller becoming more deeply embedded within customers’ day to day
business systems operations beyond just the hardware.
Helps sell hardware – by extending the reseller offering and meeting more customer needs.
5.2. Benefits for the reseller - Production Print sales division
The ATI software suite is of value to the production print salesman because it:
Works with both transactional data and document jobs - thus offering more to the print room and facilitating
the potential business benefits from convergence – i.e. merging IT printing in with Reprographics operations
Addresses a wide range of customer requirements needs - whether it is IT output or job ticketed
document production, the core product gives mainframe like print queue control away from the host system and
provides all the basic functionality to meet most requirements for output management, including: cluster
printing, job splitting, “round robin” printing, automated failover, “hold & release”, copy & move, preview and
reprint, etc., as well as the opportunity for customised workflows using the on board scripting capability.
Offers variable data output formatting – docQforms provides a further solution offering for the production print
reseller. Host system flat data can be formatted on the fly to output quality line of business documents. A unique
selling point is that it uses the simplicity of Microsoft Word as the formatting tool while maintaining throughput
performance.
Captures and grows print volumes - Job ticketing provides a mechanism for capturing increased volume for the
production devices in the print room
- increasing “clicks”
- increasing demand for new equipment
- helping build the Return On Investment (ROI) story for the print room
Supports other manufacturers devices through being an open system which works with any Windows supported
device. This can facilitate a reseller gaining an initial hardware footprint in a print room without having to swop
out all the existing equipment up front. Similarly, for resellers supplying a range of manufacturers equipment, it
allows a “mix and match” approach to offering the best solution.

July 2016
Page 9 of 19 July 2016 v.1.2
5.3. Benefits for the reseller - Office MFP sales division
The breadth of ATI software functionality provides a toolkit for the office division salesman to extend the customer
discussion and open new business opportunities through:
Simple cost saving print rules offering
docQrules SMB small/medium business edition provides a very simple, low cost, fast pay back, solution to open
a customer discussion. Perhaps merely on how to cut the cost of office email printing, or prevent printing web
pages in colour
Meeting office systems special requirements
ATI docQrules software can be used to meet a whole range of requirements beyond that given by general pull
printing systems software. Examples include:
- Controlling print job load on the network
- User friendly job renaming for secure job release
- Print job modification on the fly to enable “plug & play” replacement of another manufacturers’ legacy
equipment
Examples of these and other interesting special applications can be seen in the ATI software case study success
story pack. (See Appendix for listing)
Linking the office to the print room
Where organisations have an in-house print room, job ticketing provides the office systems salesman an
additional solution offering for the office environment as well as giving an extended opportunity for hardware
into the print room.
Promoting this in the form of the ATI “one Q” solution gives the optimum rules based “universal driver” type
solution for departmental printing in this environment. (Go to the ATI website to see how it works)
Creating the path to future business
Even if the print room happens to be supplied by another manufacturer or reseller the opportunity exists for the
office salesman because ATI software is an open system which works with any Windows supported device. This
means job ticketing can be introduced and deployed to interface with the existing print room equipment, leaving
open the opportunity for the reseller to address the print room installed base at a later date.

6. Benefits for the customer
6.1. General customer benefits
General benefits accruing to end user organisations selecting ATI software products include:
Overall business efficiency gains deriving in many areas from using the software to: simplify processes, enforce
disciplines, automate workflow, reduce errors, facilitate better ways of working and increase productivity
Freedom in selection of hardware manufacturer through being an “open system” which works with any
Windows supported device. This avoids lock-in for the customer and allows a mix of manufacturer’s equipment if
desired.
Increased users awareness of cost of printing as a result of print rules and messaging which can be built into a
configuration.
Ease of customisation including freedom to match in-house corporate style
A contribution to meeting corporate environmental “Green” targets where relevant
6.2. Benefits for customer print room operations
In the print room docQmanager provides:
- a simple to operate disciplined structure for job output management - a common user interface for managing all job types whether they are: - job ticketed document jobs - hard copy photocopy jobs - host system transactional data print jobs
To print room operations it provides a system which:
Helps meet performance targets and print deadlines as a result of productivity gains deriving from product features, e.g. automating aspects of print production workflow, cluster printing, load balancing, colour split, etc.
Improves customer service through providing a simple to use job submission mechanism, with faster job turn round, as well as automated user messaging to keep them informed on job progress and status.
Captures more work and increases print room volume as a result of print rules and the improved job submission process with job ticketing, -
Adds support to the print room business case - the new “Shop” feature is a further example enabling services to be extended to support continuing investment in print room assets
Reduces risk of operator errors – as a consequence of the intrinsic disciplines within an electronic job ticketing system with automated driver configuration and other features.
Reduces administration time on reporting and accounting either from docQmanager’s own job logging capability or from integration with the cost recovery system used for the office pull printing system.

6.3. Benefits for customer office / departmental operations
The benefits brought to an organisation’s departmental office operations by deploying ATI software can be many and
varied.
6.3.1. Customer benefits from docQrules
The benefits that can be gained from docQrules for departmental office operations broadly separate out into:
Print cost control from rules to meet department budgets
This may be from simply forcing printing in duplex to save paper, or controlling email printing by decolourising
and limiting pages printed, or routing jobs to cheaper to run devices.
Resolving varied network printer problems and special requirements
Addressing these may often entail job modification using the power of the product’s advanced Mode. Refer to
the various case study examples listed in the Appendix which include such things as:
Image shift correction to facilitate printer replacement
Printer click charge correction
User friendly job naming for Equitrac “Follow you” printing.
6.3.2. Customer benefits from ATI job ticketing
The key benefits for office departmental operations from adopting ATI job ticketing include:
Improved operational staff productivity Whether users are departmental office staff, academic professionals, fee earners in a law firm, or any other type of user on the network, docQmanager job ticketing gives users a simple and easy to use system for submitting jobs to a central print room from their desktop wherever they may be. More flexible ways of working ATI’s job ticket licensing system, which is now based on the number of named users, allows job ticket clients to be freely installed on any number of machines within an organisation. Thus a named licensed user is able to submit jobs from any suitably enabled machine from anywhere in the organisation. Simplified job submission for users Whether it is by “file/print” from the application or web browser upload of a job, the job ticket is designed to lay out the details of what needs to be completed to define the job requirements without the complexities often presented by manufacturers’ device drivers. Saved time for users Through delegating work to the experts in the print room rather than spending time doing it themselves on departmental MFPs - submitting jobs from their desktop and avoiding walking to print room. Improved user cost awareness Dynamic job cost display on the face of the job ticket helps users to make decisions on how and where best to print. Better informed users Automated emails or pop-up messaging providing updates as work progress through the print room keeps user informed of their job status. Better and more certain quality print jobs Better quality documents intrinsically result from work being done by skilled print room staff on production equipment designed for the job, as opposed users doing it themselves on departmental MFPs.

Page 12 of 19 July 2016 v.1.2
6.3.3. Customer benefits from ATI variable data forms package
With ATI docQforms using the power and simplicity of MS Word as the design tool, significant benefits accrue to the
user departments, including:
Forms design independent of IT
While IT control and maintain the host data, document output format and day to day changes can be controlled
by the business user operations department without relying on IT. This gives the user department flexibility to
make timely forms amendments and reduces the burden on IT.
Avoids IT host programming costs
By user departments being able to modify documents themselves the cost of expensive host system
programming is avoided, along with the need to rely on scarce IT resource for design changes, with its potential
implications of availability to match desired user department deadlines.
No expensive training / retraining costs
With MS Word being the formatting tool, changes may be implemented by regular departmental office staff and
there is no requirement for extensive and expensive specialist user training and retraining.
6.4. Customer financial control benefits
Financial benefits for an organisation include:
Indirect cost savings deriving from a whole range of operational efficiencies both within the print room and the
departmental user groups. Also user awareness of cost of printing can be enhanced through interactive messaging in
the user interface dialogues so as to help reduce such cost.
Direct cost savings quantifiable in terms of paper usage and click charges can be obtained from the application of
rules based printing
Improved print accounting and charging with less administration results from docQmanager’s integration with cost
recovery systems to provide a common accounting and reporting system, whether jobs are printed on the
departmental network or routed to the print room. Where external client billing is required, e.g. law firms, this
integration gives a strong control to ensure full automated cost recovery billing.
Rationalisation of investment in production print equipment can be achieved by organisations as a result of
docQmanager being able to accommodate both transactional data output and document printing. The opportunity
exists for merging IT printing into the reprographics print room and processing all output using common production
print hardware managed by the docQmanager software platform.
Enhanced Return on Investment (ROI) from an organisation’s printing equipment assets and facilities. This is
intrinsically enhanced through operational efficiencies enabling higher through put and productivity.

7. Market positioning
7.1. Print queue management in any sector At its most basic level docQmanager povides a simple cost effective print queue management function for a whole
range of applications. This is not industry specific, nor limited to print rooms and includes such items as:
Simple “hold & release” for output from PlanetPress of other forms packages.
General data-centre print workflow management downstream from the host system
Simple load balance and automated failover for networked MFP business applications.
The case study success stories referenced in the Appendix illustrate some examples of how the product works across a
range of applications.
7.2. General Office – any organisation with “pull printing” and a central in-house print room Where organisations have a “pull printing” system for secure document release on office network MFPs and also have
a central in-house print room, ATI print management software is the ideal print job management solution to overlay
the “pull print” system and provide rules based printing, seamlessly linking the general office with the print room
using what is in effect an intelligent universal driver. (Go to the ATI website to see how it works.)
Where such organisations use job accounting on their system ATI software brings more added value through its
integration with the leading cost recovery systems from Equitrac, Papercut, Pcounter, SafeCom and YSoft, thus
providing integrity and consistency of accounting and print activity reporting no matter whether a job is printed on
the departmental network or submitted to the central print room.
ATI software – Sales Guide
July 2016
Page 14 of 19 July 2016 v.1.2
7.3. Managed Print Services
The concept of Managed Print Services (MPS) must necessarily include a consideration of all aspects of print output within an organisation including both departmental office output, Central Reprographics Department (CRD) activities (where such a department exists) and IT print output, which every business must have.
ATI print management software originated for IT data-centre output management before the days of widespread digital copiers. From that base it has evolved to meet the developing business needs from the deployment of digital MFPs and thus provides a powerful tool kit for application within MPS projects. Part of the product evolution from its original IT queue management function has included using the same underlying product architecture and applying it to provide the engine for rules based printing on network print servers.
The wide range of case study success stories referenced in the Appendix illustrate the breadth and value that ATI’s offering can potentially bring to MPS scenarios.
7.4. Vertical markets where ATI software fits particularly well
7.4.1. Education
Academic activities of large schools, colleges and universities intrinsically demand the production of large volumes of
printed document output, all needing to be attributed to the relevant department cost centres and budgets . Such
establishments with central in-plant reprographics print rooms will benefit from ATI docQmanager to efficiently
manage the production process and provide a simple and effective system for staff and students to easily submit jobs
remotely to the print room, with the added benefit from the software also automatically handling the print room cost
allocations and reporting. Through facilitating use of the print room and its efficient operation, the system enhances
return on investment in print room assets as well as helping free up staff and student time for academic activity.
7.4.2. Government
The operations of Central and Local Government organisations generate large volumes of printed document output.
Those with central in-plant reprographics print rooms will benefit from ATI docQmanager software to efficiently
manage the production process and provide a simple and effective system for departments to easily submit jobs
remotely to the print room. Through facilitating use of the print room and its efficient operation, the system assists
return on investment in print room assets as well as freeing up departmental staff time to focus on their operational
activity. For Local Authorities who may be seeking to save cost by merging IT and reprographics operations and
rationalising their investment in hardware, docQmanager, with its ability to accommodate both variable data
transactional jobs and document jobs, can provide the print queue management platform to facilitate such change.
7.4.3. Legal / Professional services
Legal and other professional services firms with central in-house print rooms can benefit from adopting ATI
docQmanager software to provide a simple and efficient system for remote submission to the print room. Such
organisations generally have a requirement to fully account for and recharge clients for print, copy and scanning
activity costs. ATI’s in-built integration with Equitrac, PaperCut, PCounter, SafeCom and YSoft, the leading third party
cost recovery systems used in such organisations, provides a particularly strong fit for ATI software in this market
sector.

ATI software – Sales Guide
July 2016
Page 16 of 19 July 2016 v.1.2
9. Software maintenance and support
9.1. Basic principles
Software maintenance is intrinsically different in nature to hardware maintenance. Hardware maintenance is paid to
provide service and repair of a product as it is used and wears out, whereas software, to the contrary, does not wear
out with use. Rather, it is constantly being improved with new features added through an ongoing programme of new
release upgrades. Software maintenance payments by an end user are in effect buying into a continuous product
improvement programme.
For this reason, if maintenance cover is lapsed at any time and subsequently requires to be reinstated, before any
further support can be given or upgrade delivered, it is necessary for the licensee to make good the amounts due and
not paid during the lapsed period. On making good such lapsed payments, the end user will then be entitled to
Helpdesk support and the benefits from the enhanced latest version level.
9.2. ATI software maintenance
Purchase of ATI software support and maintenance cover is mandatory for all licence purchases. First year standard
pricing is at 18% p.a. of licence price,
ATI software support and maintenance entitles a licensee to ongoing software upgrades along with remote technical
support by email and telephone in accordance with ATI’s standard contract terms.
Additional years of cover may be purchased up front together with the licence at the prevailing list price if required to match a lease period or for some other reason. Alternatively cover may be paid for on an annual renewal basis and subject to annual incremental price increases.
9.3. Remote support
To assist the support process, all ATI software is shipped with TeamViewer functionality which facilitates remote
access to the end user system to help analyse and correct issues should they arise..
