OVERVIEW
The ATHE Level 4 in Management is a naonally recognised qualicaon, which can be studied as a Cercate, Diploma or
Extended Diploma. The programme is at the same level of diculty as a rst year undergraduate degree. Assessment is by
vocaonally relevant assignments, using a range of assessment methods, including wrien reports and recorded oral
presentaons. Students who successfully complete the Cercate can progress onto the Diploma or the Extended Diploma.
Alternavely, learners compleng the Extended Diploma in Management can progress to a specialist management programme
in Health and Social Care or Travel and Tourism or the second year of a related UK undergraduate degree or, in the case of the
Cercate or Diploma, gain paral exempon for the rst year of a related UK undergraduate degree. Students should make
their own enquiries about the entry requirements and exempons for their desired progression route and the college or
university they intend to study at before applying for this programme (ETC accepts no responsibility for this, since colleges and
universies have dierent entry and exempon criteria).
Students can complete the programme at their own pace and have a choice of studying it via blended learning or distance
learning. ATHE is a naonally recognised awarding body, which is regulated by Ofqual and it has arculaon agreements with a
number of universies (see: hp://atheuk.com/progression-routes/). This ensures clear progression routes onto related

LEARNING MATERIALS
You will be supplied with electronic learning materials to download, a reading list and assignment briefs with guidance for
each assignment task. (This is included in the programme fee. You will, however, be expected to purchase your own
textbooks)
TUTORS
You will be allocated a tutor with whom you can arrange face-to-face meengs at the College’s premises or you can
communicate with via telephone, Skype, Tango or WebEx. (Each unit includes 2 hours one-to-one consultaon with the
tutor, aer which there will be a charge of £25 an hour.)
EXPECTED COMPLETION TIMES
Although you can study the programmes at your own pace, the awarding body expects you to undertake a minimum
duraon of study per unit in order to complete it eecvely. This is 150 hours per unit. Therefore the approximate
minimum compleon mes for each programme (assuming study me of 40 hours a week) is as follows:
LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATE IN MANAGEMENT (2 units): 8 weeks
LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT (4 units): 15 weeks
LEVEL 4 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT (8 units) 30 weeks
Please note that these are recommended guide mes only. Some students may be able to complete the programme in a
shorter period of me, while others could require more me.
