Financial challenges
• Whichever government is formed more budget cuts are on the way
• Already seen £316 million ($478million) - 26% of government funding cut from service since 2010.
• Expecting around 7-8% cuts to government grants per year for 2015-20
• May be more or less depending on which party (or combination of parties) takes power
• Sir Ken Knight Review – reform and efficiency
• Adrian Thomas Review – terms & conditions and barriers to change
• Further reports on devolution, local government finance and interoperability.

Not standing still
• Services have already saved more than £300 million
• Efficiency from support functions, new crewing methods and equipment
• Creating central, national hubs for procurement, expanding to HR and other areas in future
• Already collaborating with other emergency services – sharing buildings etc.
