4th Grade- At Home Zentangle Lesson Hopefully most of you were in attendance when we started our Zentangle lesson at school. This is a wonderful method for making art because it only requires a thin marker and a pencil and just small pieces of paper. I am adding some information here to remind you of what we already know about the Zentangle Method of drawing. This will help your parents understand also. Here is a fun video you can watch: https://youtu.be/OK7JZkKc48M The Zentangle Method works because It is fun It is simple to learn Each stroke is easy to draw There are no mistakes There are no preplanned outcomes, yet You always know what to do next The result is unexpected and beautiful . . . . . . and all this occurs with gratitude and appreciation. www.zentangle.com Those are some examples of Zentangle Tiles. When we did this in class, we started with the 4 corner dots. Then we connected those dots to make a frame. The last thing we did before the tangles, was to divide the area using the “string” method. For ours we used the letter “Z”. You can divide your space any way you want. There is no wrong way, however, the recommendation is to do this part with a pencil. I am going to add some additional tangles that you can practice and then use in your new tile drawing.

Now that you have practiced some of these new tangles, find a small piece of white paper. A good size is about 4inx4in. You can also use blank index cards. Create a frame and a string with a pencil. I would say divide your paper into 4-6 sections. Fill those sections with some of the above tangles. If you can take a picture and email it to me!
