CALIFERMENTATION 2016 Brought to you by The Vinguard and Winelandia. 10% of all proceeds will be donated to SF - Marin Food Bank. The first wine fair showcasing California’s natural winemakers. Come taste the huge variety of wines and meet the producers at America’s original natural wine bar. Welcome to Califermentation 2016 It seems as if it has taken the emergence of natural winemaking in California to blow the top off of what is possible in the state. While the movement is still in its nascent, it has caused a not so small revolution. Even the corporate, conventional producers have taken note but as of now, the story is all about the little guys. These winemakers have and continue to be the stalwarts, fighting uphill battles and avoiding shortcuts. Most of the time, they are operating with very thin margins because of their dedication to the pure, unfettered expression of grapes as Mother Nature intended. After the success of last year’s tasting we decided to expand the fair this year and make it a two-day event. This was before we even realized that there were more natural wine producers in California to discover. No doubt there are still more to uncover and we look forward to bringing these wines to you in the future. For now, enjoy the tasting. Ask questions…winemakers love to talk. Pace your palate…there are a lot of wines to try. Drink water…it helps. Not least, remember which wines you love and continue to support the producers. Thanks for coming, Pamela (The Vinguard) and Tala (Winelandia.com) All of the wines today were made: From organically farmed vineyards, meaning no synthetic products of any sort were used. With NO additions other than up to 50 ppm total SO2. Enzymes, acid and other additives were strictly forbidden.

Welcome to Califermentation 2016

It seems as if it has taken the emergence of natural winemaking in California to blow the top off of what is possible in the state.
