AT-9924T

With 24 copper ports, the AT-9924T works with existing copper cabling. The 4 SFP combo ports make integration with fibre networks possible.

Markets and applications• Service Provider at the metro access edge • Enterprise at the aggregation layer, or for gigabit to the desktop • Schools, small enterprises and small hospitals at core

Page 10: AT-9924/9924s

AT-9924SP

The 24 1000 BASE-X SFP fibre ports are perfect for Service Provider and Data Centres.

Markets and applications• Service Provider at the metro aggregation, core, or edge layers • Data centre or server farm aggregation

AT-9900 Series Key FeaturesPerformanceHigh-density Gigabit Ethernet, non-blocking on all ports

ReliabilityDual internal load sharing hot-swappable power supplies, and a high operating temperature

FlexibilityThree models in the series and different SFP interface options

ValueA reliable hardware platform with advanced AlliedWare software features

Page 13: AT-9924/9924s

AT-9900 PerformanceFeature Benefit

Fully non-blocking switching on all ports

Enterprises need high-performance at the aggregation layer and core.Service Providers need high-performance at the access edge

Layer 2 and 3 IPv4 routing at wire-speed, high speed IPv6 routing

Important for Service Providers wanting good support of broadcast video applications with many users and multicast channels

Generous capacity for aggregation at Layer 2 and 3 with support for thousands of IP interfaces

Essential for Service Providers when aggregating complex IP networks

Page 14: AT-9924/9924s

AT-9900 Reliability

Feature Benefit

Dual internal load-sharing, hot-swappable AC/DC PSUs

Two PSUs ensure continuous network uptime. One PSU takes over supplying power if the other is removed or fails.

Eliminates the need for an external RPS at additional cost that consumes valuable rack space.

Reliability is important to all customers because no one wants their network interrupted.

Page 15: AT-9924/9924s

AT-9900 Reliability Feature Benefit

Front-to-back cooling Perfect for the high-density rack environment and wiring closets where space is at a premiumMore efficient coolingHot air expelled from one switch is not drawn in by an adjacent switch

High operating temperature up to 50°C Increased reliability for high density installations

Page 16: AT-9924/9924s

AT-9900 FlexibilityFeature Benefit

Three models in the series Choose the model or models that suits your network

All models have SFP ports that take a variety of interface types

SFP ports support any combination of copper or fiber for short-haul and long-haul Hot-swappable

Page 17: AT-9924/9924s

AT-9900 Flexibility

Feature Benefit

Option of high speed IPv6 routing in hardware with the AT-9924T/4SP

One of the few switches on the market that supports IPv6 in hardware. The AT-9924T/4SP can be deployed without the IPv6 accelerator card, and still provide an easy upgrade path to IPv6.Early IPv6 adopters can utilise the IPv6 accelerator card now.

AT-9900 Value and Alliedware

The AT-9900 series’ combination of reliable hardware design and fully-featured software represents unbeatable value

Advanced AlliedWare features that add value: • VLAN double tagging

• 4096 VLANs

• Advanced Quality of Service (QoS)

• Advanced multicast protocols

• 802.1x user authentication

• Easy management options

Page 19: AT-9924/9924s

AlliedWare Features & Benefits

VLAN double tagging Service Providers can offer a revenue-generating service to customers Subscribers can retain their existing VLAN tags across remote offices

4096 VLANs Service Providers can increase each customer’s VLAN allocation, giving better

separation of services than switches with fewer VLANs

AlliedWare Features & Benefits

Advanced QoS Intelligently manage network traffic to allow stable and predictable

end-to-end network performance Ideal solution for mixed application networks running voice, data, and

video traffic Allows traffic to be processed with up to eight levels of priority for

optimal network control Bandwidth limit resolution down to 1Kbps gives very precise control of

bandwidth guarantees

AlliedWare Features & Benefits

Easy management options An intuitively designed CLI, with Telnet, SSH and SNMPv3 for secure

and remote management The Alliedware Stacking feature allows a stack of switches to be

administered as one, through one IP address, even if switches are in different locations

The Virtual Cable Tester means that the event of network interruption, administrators can accurately identify a fault’s location without disconnecting any cables

10GbE XFP TransceiverUsed on both the SwitchBlade 10Gig card and the 9900s AT-A60 1x10GbE expansion module

9900s Family

The XFP is an application-agnostic ultra-small 10Gbps optical transceiver module standardized by the XFP MSA Group (http://www.xfpmsa.org/).

Its small footprint and low power dissipation enables the highest board density 10Gbps applications in the industry.

The XFP transceiver appears to have become the most commonly used 10GbE transceiver.

It is currently available in fibre, ranging from 500 metres to 40km, with an 80km product being developed by vendors, available end 2004.
