when Jupiter enters Gemini May 30, 2013 through June 18, 2014. The first5 months of 2013 will be the most difficult for everyone but withperseverance and discipline you could also be building a strong foundationfor auspicious Jupiter to bring its opportunities and especially to the 12thhouse that can give favorable results with foreign travel, spiritual growth, healing, charity and lower expenses.
Malefic Rahu will be joining Saturn from mid January until July 2014 intensifyingthe effects of Saturn and could bring many hardships in the world with an increasein war, terrorism, earthquakes and violent weather. March 4th through May 22nd and again August 18th through October 5th, butespecially when Saturn, Rahu and Mars come together exact degree in midSeptember between September 9th through 21st when the world could experiencea major war conflict, earthquake or severe weather. The exact conjunction ofSaturn Rahu will be September 16th, with the greatest impact for Scorpio lagna or
Moon will be felt in the 12th house but fortunately benefic Jupiter will be throwingits positive protection.
In summary the Saturn Rahu transiting your 12th gives the most challenges whenMars gets involved from March through the end of May but then Jupiter in Geminicomes to the rescue. September could be when the world experiences the greatestupheavals but you will have the protection of Jupiter helping you through any 12thhouse events.
Mercury Retrograde periods in 2013:February 23 March 17
June 26 July 20October 21 November 10
Venus the planet of love, relationships and creativity will be retrograde: December 21, 2013 January 31, 2014
Vedic Saturn transit in Libraand the effect to all 12 signs
Saturn or Sani will enter sidereal Libra or Tula from November 14, 2011
through November 2, 2014 US time zones. Saturn enters Libra every 30years and the sign Libra is Saturns exaltation placement helping it give its
best results but Saturn is still the great malefic and will give delays, detachment, obstacles, separations, suffering, hardships, chronic conditionsand death. But an exalted Saturn is very good for attracting and handlingmajor responsibilities, relationship commitment as its in Libra, businesspartnerships and for being more disciplined and focused. Saturn rulesdemocracy and can give beneficial support transiting in Libra to bring amore democratic government to the Arab nations who are currently fightingand struggling for a government to be voted and ruled by its people.
When Saturn enters Libra it will be supported by the great benefic Jupiter orGuru, who will be in the opposite sign of Aries throwing a favorable aspectuntil May 16, 2012. Jupiters protective grace along with Saturn in its
exalted sign will bring growth and support to Libra but Saturn will still bringdelays and challenges but Jupiter will allow Saturn to begin slowly to bringmore favorable results. But when Jupiter is in Aries and Saturn in Libra it willtrigger a double transit to the sign Sagittarius. A double transit is whenJupiter and Saturn influence the same sign that brings support, protectionand growth to the conditions of the house that Sagittarius rules in each
horoscope. This double transit should be more favorable for business andour world economies and especially for the US because the most commonlyused Lagna of the US is Sagittarius.

Jupiter will enter Taurus May 16, 2012 through May 30, 2013 and while inTaurus will be form a 6/8 relationship to Saturn, which gives struggles anddelays. Therefore the Jupiter will no longer be providing its luck andprotection to Saturn and Jupiter in Taurus will be joining malefic Ketu, who
is also in Taurus until January 15, 2013. Ketu and Jupiter aligning can beexcellent for spiritual growth but as Ketu also brings confusion and chronicdissatisfaction and Jupiter is a karaka of wealth then May 16, 2012 untilJanuary 15, 2013 could be challenging for business and finances.
Jupiter will enter Gemini and form a very favorable 5/9 planetaryrelationship with Saturn from May 30, 2013 through June 18, 2014. Jupiterin Gemini will bring its blessings to Gemini, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquariusand Saturn is also occupying Libra and aspecting Sagittarius, thereforeSagittarius will regain support by the double transit again and Jupiter will
also help Saturn give its best results to Libra. This is also because of the 5/9relationship of Jupiter and Saturn is generally very favorable for the worldeconomies.
Jupiter enters its exalted position in Cancer as it does every 12 years June18, 2014 for one year with Saturn still in its exalted sign until November 2,2014. Jupiter and Saturn will form a 4/10 challenging relationship butJupiter will bring many opportunities to Cancer but Saturn will delay theprocess as it will be also be aspecting Cancer. However, Saturn leaves Libraand enters Scorpio November 2, 2014 and begins to form another
auspicious double transit to Capricorn and Jupiter will bring more protectionto Saturns transit in Scorpio until July 13, 2015.
Saturn in Libra will affect the Lagna, Moon and the Sun in your personalhoroscopes as well as the charts for countries and corporations.Scorpio/Vrishika: Saturn will be transiting the 12th house/bhava ofexpenditures, losses, uncertain transitions, foreign locales, endings, retreat, hospitals, prisons, ashrams and spiritual pilgrimages and liberation. Saturnbeing a malefic can increase debt, trigger serious health problems and cangive depression and confusions. But an exalted Saturn can give excellent
results with foreign travels, spiritual practices, doing seva and working fornon-profit or charitable organizations.
The supportive double transit will bring growth and improvement toSagittarius Nov 14, 2011 to May 16, 2012 and May 30, 2013 through June18, 2014. Sagittarius rules your 2nd house of wealth, finances, speech, writing, education, family life, domestic happiness and food. This is afavorable double transit for making money, speaking engagements, writingprojects, domestic life and better eating habits.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY
People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the
various facets pertaining to their chart; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensitiespertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, theChandra Lagna
itself and Gocharfurnish other popular areas of curiosity.
Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Ri (Rashi)/Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this
reason the twelve Ris cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. (Basic Jyotiaprinciples can be accessed by clicking this link)
Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the
person. It is the first house or Bhva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopicstudy. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ ascendant and
these are usually at variance with the Lagna rising in the Ri Cakra (Rashi Chakra). In other words,
different signs may and do tenant the various divisional charts. If the same Ri (Rashi) shouldoccupy the Lagna in the Ri (Rashi) and the Navma Cakras (Navamsha Chakras) then theLagna is said to be Vargottama or occupying an Uttama Varga or good division. We must be
cautious here since if a planet in Ri (Rashi) debility also attains debilitation in the Navma(Navamsha) then there is nothing Uttama or good about it.
The rising sign or the Lagna and its Lord are extremely crucial as they show the self of the person.
Every rising sign or Lagna has its own characteristics since it decides a certainKarmic metaphysics
due to the positioning and allocation of matters to various signs and their lords. For this reason even
bereft of the information of placement of Grahas in the Ri Cakra (Rashi Chakra) we can venturemany opinions based on the rising sign or the ascendant or the Lagna.
Affliction to the Lagna Lord orrpas/ cursesimposing themselves on the lord of the ascendant canlead to major issues that have to be contended with. An affliction by ani (Shani) for example couldlead to anattention deficit disorderamongst other things.
The Lagnea (Lagnesha) of the various Lagnas rising in the Ri Cakra (Rashi Chakra) as well asthe Varga Cakra/ divisional charts may also be referred to as the 'ruling planet'. The Lord of the
Lagna is the lord of the first Bhva and therefore rules the chart and the person in question.Whatever else it may do it always continues to govern and rule the native and never causes harm to
the person. The Ratna of the Lagnea (Lagnesha) is therefore a safe stone to wear, as a thumbrule. It is only a thumb rule as conjunctions and afflictions can tend to completely change the picture
and planets tend to impart their own hues to the conjoined Grahas. Another thumb-rule is never
wear a gemstone without authoritative advice since it touches the body/ Tanu.
The placement of the lord of the Lagna in a specific Bhva (Bhava) from the Lagna is also of greatrelevance. The Graha tends to sap that Bhva (Bhava) of energy in order to feed the native withenergy and any other mode of sustenance. The placement of Lagnea (Lagnesha) in certain Bhvas(Bhavas) is conspicuous and for good reason. Any association of the Lagna and the 5th and 6th
Bhvas (Bhavas) and lords from the Lagna leads to the Dhmantaha (Dhimantah) Yoga which leadsto high levels of intelligence. This is include the placement of the Lagnea (Lagnesha) in say the 6thBhva (Bhava) from the Lagna.
Another quick way to perceive Lagna and what it connotes is to view it as something 'rising' or
bringing to life that precious 'ray of light'. Though Di (Disha) or direction is more important for theKlacakra (Kalachakra), and in more immediate matters, from the rha Lagna (Arudha Lagna),

we would do well to remember that the Di (Disha) of the Lagna or the direction associated with theLagna is the downward direction and is governed by Brahm (Brahma). Rajas decends into theworld where it works best while something like Ketu sumbolises the upward direction because Ketu
wants to spiral out of creation into Moka (Moksha) or release.
Even so, we must always remember that the Lagna Chakra is but one reference point and otherssuch as the charts reckoned from the rha Lagna (Arudha Lagna) and the Kraka (Karaka)Lagna are equally important. We have to see where the important rdha (Arudha) Padas such asthe A7 or the Drpada (Darapada) are placed which indicate sustenance, wealth, andrelationships, both from the Lagna and the rudha (Arudha) Lagna. The Kraka (Karaka) Lagna isactually supreme since the tmakraka (Atmakaraka) is the KIng of the horoscope according toMahar Parara (Maharshi Parashara).
There can be other correlations such as the placement of Cadra (Chandra)/ the Moon in the
Lagna-this means that the Lagna and the Ri (Rashi) are identical. Transits over the Lagna/ Ri(Rashi) have a far greater impact due to this as two reference points have come together. As an
aside, people with the Moon in the Lagna are sociable and easy to connect with-they mingle a lotand get about. Cadra (Chandra) is a Lagna in itself and is a very important determinant of how
matters related to the world will shape up.
Another point to clarify is that while each Lagna will have the various Ris (Rashis) / Vedic signspositioned in a particular way and each Graha will be assigned different roles, one Lagna cannot
simply be preferred over another. Existence has created all of us with different Krmic frameworkswhich are well elaborated by the independent Lagnas rising there. In other words, it is not correct to
say wonder as to which Lagna might be best or indeed if one Lagna is better than the other. Each
Lagna/ rising sign will have its own characteristics.
With these points in mind let us proceed to study the various Lagnas or Ascendants in Jyotia.
Vricika/ Scorpio Lagna: Lorded by both Mars and Ketu. Guru is very auspicious, ruling the 2ndand the 5th Houses. One cannot term Gur (Guru) as Mraka (Maraka) and bode evil due to a Ri(Rashi) placement of Gur (Guru). Gur (Guru) is the greatest protection in the nativity and is arepresentative of Bhagwna. It is the only Graha which does good for the native without asking foranything in return. We must also remember that Parara has a specific dictum for the placement ofGur(Guru) in the Lagna in any Ri (Rashi) whatsoever.
Mercury is a functional malefic. Shani remains a malefic. Venus is a Maraka. Sun is a good planet, ruling Karma. The Moon is also a benefic for the Lagna, ruling luck itself. The pearl, Ruby and Red
Coral can be choices for this Lagna. These people can be pre-disposed to research and occult studyand the Guru-Mangal Yoga can be especially fruitful.
If I do not mince my words, the Jtaka of this Lagna will readily agree that they have faced someheavy trials in life. If the Grahas are not very strong in the nativity then they will often feel that theyhave had to carry some unseen burden. This is a difficult Ri and the challenge is to keep the heartclean and at any cost the emotions should not be poisoned. Refer back to the part about Gurabove and this need not be taken literally-it can be any source of wisdom and illumination. Somenatives can be hirsute.

Planetary transits in 2013 - Gurmeet Singh Astrologer
We are approaching the beginning of year 2013. You all must be anxious to knowhow the year 2013 will be, and what kind of impact the 2013 planetary alignment willhave on your career, finances, business, love relationships / marriage, and yourhealth etc. The transits of slow moving planets such as Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and
Ketu are always very important, because they stay in each sign and each nakshatrafor a longer period of time compared to the fast moving planets. Saturn transits ineach Nakshatra for approximately 13 months. Rahu and Ketu transit in eachnakshatra for about 8 months. Jupiter transits in each Nakshatra for about 5 monthsand 10 days. In the Varshaphal reading Mr. Singh will analyze the influence of thetransiting planets for the next 12 months; most especially the transits of Saturnbecause it is always of a longer duration. The point is to get you to pay attention tothe cumulative influence of the slow moving planets in transit, such as, Saturn, Rahu,Ketu, and Jupiter for the next 12 months, and the dashas in operation, in relation toyour natal astrology chart.
Mr. Singh will analyze the effects of all these transits in 2013 in relation to the dasasthat are running in the next 12 months in your natal astrology chart, and see how thetransits of slow moving planets Saturn, Rahu, Ketu and Jupiter will be influencing youin year 2013.In the Natal Chart, some planets are the significators of marriage (2nd,7th, and 11th), some are significators of money (2nd, 6th, and 11th); some aresignificators of loss of money (8th and 12th); some are significators of sickness (6th,8th, and 12th), some are significators of career/occupation (2nd, 6th, and 10th), andso on. Suppose all of the above transiting planets are simultaneously moving in thenakshatra for the significators of money (like the 2nd, 6th, and 11th), and alsosimultaneously moving in the Subs connected with the 2nd, 6th, and 11th in the NatalChart. It is then that they become coincided with one another in their respectiveability to influence these specific matters. So your monetary condition may thenimprove during this part of the year. Now, consider the same scenario with the abovetransiting planets moving in the Subs or nakshatras connected with the 8th or 12thhouses instead of the 2nd, 6th, or 11th houses of the Birth Chart. In this scenario, itis likely that you will lose money, be short of cash, or you may have heavy
expenditures that need to be addressed at this time.
Saturn at present is transiting Swati nakshatra ruled by Rahu in Venus sign Libra, until November 3rd, 2013 ruled by Rahu. Then it enters Visakha nakshatra ruled byJupiter in Venus sign Libra. Saturn goes retrograde in Libra at 17 degrees 34 minuteson Feb 18th, 2013. Saturn stays retrograde until July 7th, 2013, then it goes direct at10 degrees 51 minutes in Libra. Saturn will be stationary retrograde (Feb 10th to Feb
18th, 2013) and then stationary direct July 7th to July 14th, 2013, very powerful.Saturn will receive aspect from aggressive planet Mars in Pisces, in the third andfourth week of March 2013. The exact aspect will take place on March 25th, 2013.There will be Mars and Saturn opposition that will take place between April 12th, 2013and May 22nd, 2013 when Mars will transit through the Aries sign. The exact Marsand Saturn opposition will take place on April 30th / May 1st, 2013. Mars and Saturnwill again aspect each other again from August 18th , 2013 to Oct 5th , 2013, when
Mars will transit through the Cancer sign, the exact aspect will take place around Sept9th, 2013.
Rahu will transit through the Jupiter nakshatra Visakha in Libra sign until July 1st2013. Then in its own nakshatra Swati in Libra sign until the end of the year 2013.Ketu will transit in Kritika nakshatra ruled by Sun in Taurus sign ruled by Venus andthen Aries sign ruled by Mars until Feb 25th, 2013. Then it enters Bharani nakshatraruled by Venus in Mars sign Aries, until Nov 4th, 2013. Next it enters its ownnakshatra Ashwini in Aries sign ruled by Mars until the end of the year 2013. Therewill be a rare Rahu Saturn conjunction that will take place in Swati nakshatra ruled byRahu in Venus sign Libra around Sept 21st, 2013 at 15 degrees 22 minutes. But bothSaturn and Rahu at this time will receive benefic aspect from transit Jupiter in Gemini.
Jupiter at present is retrograde in Rohini nakshatra ruled by Moon in Venus signTaurus. Jupiter will go direct on Jan 30th, 2013 at 12 degrees 22 minutes in Taurussign. Jupiter will be very strong around Jan 30th, 2013 when it becomes stationarydirect in Rohini nakshatra in Taurus sign. Jupiter will transit through Mirigashiranakshatra ruled by Mars in Taurus sign from April 29th 2013 to May 30th, 2013. Then

it continues in Gemini sign and Mirigashira nakshatra ruled by Mars until June 28th,2013. Jupiter transits Ardara nakshatra ruled by Rahu in Mercury sign Gemini fromJune 28th , 2013 to Aug 31st, 2013. Jupiters sojourn through its own nakshat raPunavashu in Gemini sign will be very powerful from August 31st, 2013 till the end of
the year 2013. Jupiter goes retrograde on Nov 6th, 2013 in its own nakshatrapunarvashu in Gemini sign until the end the year 2013. While entering Gemini sign onMay 30th, 2013 Jupiter will very powerfully aspect transit Saturn and transit Rahu inLibra sign.
Outer Planets Keep to Themselves- Kerry Shemblin
Aside from interactions with the Moon as it travels through the signs this month, the outer
planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu will aspect neither each other nor the inner planets
throughout the month of March. Of course, Saturn and Rahu will still be sharing space in Libra,
so there is that combination of pressure and churning that will remain active for the remainder ofRahu's transit through Libra, which ends in July 2014. Pressure and churning, but only for
another 1.5 years. No problem!
Jupiter remains in forward motion in Taurus, moving through the degrees of Rohini nakshatra.
Jupiter is completing his transit through Venus' earth sign and preparing to change signs to
Gemini on May 30. Therefore, we have three more months of this Jupiter transit through Taurus.
Since Jupiter rules positive growth and expansion, is currently in forward motion, and is
unimpeded by any negative influences, this could be a really great period to move things forward
in the realm of life that the sign of Taurus covers in your own birth chart. It should be mentioned
that Mars will actually aspect Jupiter until March 3, until Mars moves forward from Aquarius to
Pisces.
Providing a counterbalance even a little more than usual to this urge to grow and manifest
inspired by Jupiter, Saturn is currently in retrograde motion through Venus' air sign, Libra.
Where Jupiter likes to grow, Saturn likes to limit; where Saturn is cautious, Jupiter is bravely
hopeful. These two planets tend to play opposing roles as far as basic action goes. Saturn is
contractive and Jupiter is expansive.
The interesting thing to think about is that these two opposing forces are both occupying the
signs of Venus. Venus' main motivation is love, connection and relationship. Perhaps there is
something to learn from this configuration about how love and relationship makes us contractand expand as we walk our own paths.
Saturn is retrograde and in its sign of exaltation. When a planet occupies the sign of exaltation, it
can comfortably express its energy as if its is in the luxury of its own, fine home. Saturn, planet
of detachment, serious inquiry, truth and limitation is completely shining in the dry,
philosophical sign of Libra. This is a very good position for objective observations unfettered by
ego-driven desires. This is a great time for self-inquiry and for checking in with your chosen
authorities to make sure you're living your life right. Saturn retrograde and exalted should make
a particularly strong impact through July 2013.
Having Rahu in Libra with Saturn is a bit like a rock band having dry ice in their stage show. The smoke makes everything mysterious and dramatic, drawing you into the scene. The trick is
to reach for the higher echelons of the Saturn energy and stay above the murky stage. Choosing
truth over fear will keep you from being lost in the smoke.

Mars Enters Pisces March 4
After traversing the dry signs of Saturn, Mars moves into Jupiter's water sign, Pisces, on March
4, marching through toward his own sign of Aries where he ends up mid-April.
Mars handles our ability to locate, express and manage power and resources. With Mars, we
move forward with determination, purpose and planning. Mars plans, designs and executes with
focus.
Pisces is Jupiter's water sign, the last sign of the zodiac, and a place of transition from ending
toward beginning. In Pisces we are able to perceive the full realm of possibilities, but often this
vastness of choice and opportunity makes it difficult to take decisive action. Since Mars is the
planet of decisive action, we can use this period of time between March 4-April 12 as Mars
motors his way across the symbolic cosmic ocean, to observe the vastness of possibilities while
hatching our plans about how our next set of efforts are going to be focused.
Pisces is actually a nice place for Mars to chill out. He enters Pisces as a leader of the other
planets, scouting ahead, assessing the scene; we can take this time to discard the parts of our
work life that may be dragging us down into the water, which will create buoyancy as we look
toward the horizon and new possibilities. One by one, the planets that were sharing Aquarius
will follow behind Mars into the transitional position of Pisces: Sun, Venus and then Mercury.
It is a great idea to take advantage of this transitional time for Mars to make sure that your
energy, work, plans and efforts are pointed in the right direction. By mid-April, Mars and the
other planets will begin to file into Aries, which puts them into opposition with the Saturn/Rahu
combination in Libra. The energies of pressure, churning and action will begin to surface
strongly by late April into May, so getting your plans into place in March through integration ofMars energy is highly recommended.
New Moon in Aquarius March 11
The Moon approaches the Sun for the monthly conjunction that we know as "new Moon" on
March 11 at 27 degrees of Aquarius and in the lunar mansion called Purvabhadra. The Moon is
at its lowest power during the day before this meeting, symbolically draining and revealing itself
as an empty vessel preparing to be filled once again with the Sun's light as it begins to wax
toward the full point. This day, called amavasya will occur between mid-day March 10 and mid-
day March 11. Because the lunar energy is low, it is ideal to limit activity and focus on self-careor spiritual practices if possible.
Purvabhadra nakshatra spans the last part of Aquarius and the beginning part of Pisces. The new
Moon this month is in the Aquarius portion, ruled by Saturn, currently exalted and retrograde in
Libra and creating a very strong influence on the planets occupying its sign of Aquarius.
Purvabhadra is ruled also by the deity Aja Ekapada, the one-footed serpent. The energy of this
nakshatra is yajamana udyamana shakti, the power to spiritually uplift beings. There is a fierce
and fiery energy associated with this lunar mansion and it is considered good for building,
farming and working with water.
We can therefore see that this new moon sets the theme for the upcoming lunar cycle: preparefor transformation, set intentions, build foundation.

Sun Transits Pisces March 14-April 13
The Sun follows Mars into Pisces March 14 and steadily sails through for his month in Jupiter's
water sign. With the fiery energy of the Sun and Mars moving through Pisces, and later joined
by the airy energy of Mercury and Venus, this brings some energetic stimulation to Jupiter, ruler
of Pisces, currently in his final months of transit in Taurus. This is yet another indication that we
could gracefully direct our own energy toward understanding and preparing for the upcoming
transitions in our own lives.
If we think of Pisces as oceanic in nature, imagine how the immeasurably powerful light of the
Sun reveals that which lies beneath the surface of the water. This increases our perception such
that we can consider all aspects of our situation, not just what is visible on the surface.
Our soul-searching during this period may be well directed toward exploring what is supporting
us beneath the surface of our daily lives, how that manifests in the surface of our lives, and what,
if anything, needs to be altered in order to continue floating our boats toward whatever shore weare steering.
Venus Transits Pisces March 16-April 9
Venus, as current lord of both Jupiter and Saturn because they are in occupation of the signs that
Venus rules, is in a quietly influential position. Moving from Aquarius where Venus and Saturn
exchanged signs, into Pisces, where Venus and Jupiter exchange signs shows the behind-the-
scenes influence of Venus upon our planetary configuration during this time.
Interestingly, Venus will be "combust," staying within four degrees of the Sun, from March 11-
April 14. Combustion is the state a planet enters when in extreme proximity to the Sun. The
Sun's power is so great that when planets are too near, it is difficult to perceive or express their
energy. Much like the time of the new Moon, when Moon and Sun are conjunct, this will be a
period of "New Venus." Venus will not be visible in the sky due to proximity with the Sun, and
is currently in a transitional phase from evening star to morning star.
Again, we continue our theme of transition. Venus is also exalted in the sign of Pisces, which is
the best sign for expressing the Venus qualities of love, compassion and relationship. Because of
the combustion, it may be hard to contact that juicy expression of oneness that Venus represents.
But not impossible! The trick is to unify the Self (represented by the Sun) and the Other
(represented by Venus) consciously, reflecting the state of Sun and Venus as they move throughPisces.
The message that I'm getting is that an important factor in this transitional time is to include
others (partners, the earth itself, all beings, friends, family, the environment) in your plans for
the future. While Mars is very good at working things out for the Self, Venus is very good at
including Others. The trick is to discover what will support the Self while also supporting Others
in the new paradigm that you are creating.
Because of the combustion, it may be a good idea to put extra energy into expressing Venus
during this time. Carve out time and space for relationships, socializing, creating art, music and
poetry; beautify and clear your space.
Mercury Resumes Direct Motion March 17

10/22
By the time Venus enters Pisces, Mercury will be the only planet remaining in Aquarius. The
retrograde period of Mercury that started February 22 will complete on March 17, leaving
Mercury to regroup and begin forward motion again.
Because Mercury retrograde times are better for review and editing, the first half of March can
be spent putting Mercury's great talent of analysis and organization toward identifying what isand is not working for you. Identifying these things will be productive in light of trying to plan
and create new situations that will come to bear as the spring develops.
Saturn, as ruler of Aquarius, is also currently in retrograde motion, and with Rahu. This is a
combination of stirring and steady pressure that can influence Mercury, as long as Mercury stays
in Aquarius, which is until April 10. Essentially, the beginning of March can be perceived as a
collective coming-to-Jesus-meeting that can not only reveal the truth of the conditions of our
lives but also inspire us to identify the changes that need to be made to correct our course.
As Mercury regains direct motion, we may feel like its time to put one foot in front of the other
and walk toward that horizon. While we may not be able to see what is around the next bend yet,we should be able to see our immediate next steps.
Full Moon in Virgo March 27
The Moon moves through the first half of the zodiac as it waxes, reaching fullness, purnimaa, on
the afternoon of Wednesday, March 27, in Mercury's earth sign, Virgo. The Moon will be in the
lunar mansion called Hasta, which translates as "hand" and is ruled by the Moon and by Savitar,
a form of the Sun god.
The Moon will be near the fixed star Spica, which appears as a bright star in the constellation ofVirgo. Hasta's energy is quick and when the Moon occupies Hasta, it is a good day to plant
seeds, begin or continue studies, travel, wear new clothing, move, get married and use the hands
to build or create.
This is a great crowning to the rather slow and steady movement toward unraveling and
transition that will be our month of March 2013. We begin our Spring season (in the northern
hemisphere) on March 20 and will begin to witness the strength of the Sun increasing and
energizing our actions. This is a great month for quiet observation and joyfully assessing
possibilities. By the end of the month, we may feel like we've gained information from both
within and without that will inspire us to create new paradigms and to walk confidently toward
new destinations.
Planetary transits in 2013

7/28/2019 Astro Articles
11/22
We are approaching the beginning of year 2013. You all must be anxious to know
how the year 2013 will be, and what kind of impact the 2013 planetary alignment will
have on your career, finances, business, love relationships / marriage, and your
health etc. The transits of slow moving planets such as Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and
Ketu are always very important, because they stay in each sign and each nakshatra
for a longer period of time compared to the fast moving planets. Saturn transits in
each Nakshatra for approximately 13 months. Rahu and Ketu transit in each
nakshatra for about 8 months. Jupiter transits in each Nakshatra for about 5 months
and 10 days. In the Varshaphal reading Mr. Singh will analyze the influence of the
transiting planets for the next 12 months; most especially the transits of Saturn
because it is always of a longer duration. The point is to get you to pay attention to
the cumulative influence of the slow moving planets in transit, such as, Saturn, Rahu,
Ketu, and Jupiter for the next 12 months, and the dashas in operation, in relation to
your natal astrology chart.
Mr. Singh will analyze the effects of all these transits in 2013 in relation to the dasas
that are running in the next 12 months in your natal astrology chart, and see how the
transits of slow moving planets Saturn, Rahu, Ketu and Jupiter will be influencing you
in year 2013.In the Natal Chart, some planets are the significators of marriage (2nd,
7th, and 11th), some are significators of money (2nd, 6th, and 11th); some are
significators of loss of money (8th and 12th); some are significators of sickness (6th,
8th, and 12th), some are significators of career/occupation (2nd, 6th, and 10th), and
so on. Suppose all of the above transiting planets are simultaneously moving in the
nakshatra for the significators of money (like the 2nd, 6th, and 11th), and also
simultaneously moving in the Subs connected with the 2nd, 6th, and 11th in the Natal
Chart. It is then that they become coincided with one another in their respective
ability to influence these specific matters. So your monetary condition may then
improve during this part of the year. Now, consider the same scenario with the above
transiting planets moving in the Subs or nakshatras connected with the 8th or 12th
houses instead of the 2nd, 6th, or 11th houses of the Birth Chart. In this scenario, itis likely that you will lose money, be short of cash, or you may have heavy
expenditures that need to be addressed at this time.
Saturn at present is transiting Swati nakshatra ruled by Rahu in Venus sign Libra,
until November 3rd, 2013 ruled by Rahu. Then it enters Visakha nakshatra ruled by
Jupiter in Venus sign Libra. Saturn goes retrograde in Libra at 17 degrees 34 minutes
on Feb 18th, 2013. Saturn stays retrograde until July 7th, 2013, then it goes direct at
10 degrees 51 minutes in Libra. Saturn will be stationary retrograde (Feb 10th to Feb
18th, 2013) and then stationary direct July 7th to July 14th, 2013, very powerful.
Saturn will receive aspect from aggressive planet Mars in Pisces, in the third and
fourth week of March 2013. The exact aspect will take place on March 25th, 2013.
There will be Mars and Saturn opposition that will take place between April 12th, 2013and May 22nd, 2013 when Mars will transit through the Aries sign. The exact Mars
and Saturn opposition will take place on April 30th / May 1st, 2013. Mars and Saturn
will again aspect each other again from August 18th , 2013 to Oct 5th , 2013, when
Mars will transit through the Cancer sign, the exact aspect will take place around Sept
9th, 2013.
Rahu will transit through the Jupiter nakshatra Visakha in Libra sign until July 1st
2013. Then in its own nakshatra Swati in Libra sign until the end of the year 2013.
Ketu will transit in Kritika nakshatra ruled by Sun in Taurus sign ruled by Venus and
then Aries sign ruled by Mars until Feb 25th, 2013. Then it enters Bharani nakshatraruled by Venus in Mars sign Aries, until Nov 4th, 2013. Next it enters its own
nakshatra Ashwini in Aries sign ruled by Mars until the end of the year 2013. There
will be a rare Rahu Saturn conjunction that will take place in Swati nakshatra ruled by

Rahu in Venus sign Libra around Sept 21st, 2013 at 15 degrees 22 minutes. But both
Saturn and Rahu at this time will receive benefic aspect from transit Jupiter in Gemini.
Jupiter at present is retrograde in Rohini nakshatra ruled by Moon in Venus sign
Taurus. Jupiter will go direct on Jan 30th, 2013 at 12 degrees 22 minutes in Taurus
sign. Jupiter will be very strong around Jan 30th, 2013 when it becomes stationary
direct in Rohini nakshatra in Taurus sign. Jupiter will transit through Mirigashira
nakshatra ruled by Mars in Taurus sign from April 29th 2013 to May 30th, 2013. Then
it continues in Gemini sign and Mirigashira nakshatra ruled by Mars until June 28th,
2013. Jupiter transits Ardara nakshatra ruled by Rahu in Mercury sign Gemini from
June 28th , 2013 to Aug 31st, 2013. Jupiters sojourn through its own nakshatra
Punavashu in Gemini sign will be very powerful from August 31st, 2013 till the end of
the year 2013. Jupiter goes retrograde on Nov 6th, 2013 in its own nakshatra
punarvashu in Gemini sign until the end the year 2013. While entering Gemini sign on
May 30th, 2013 Jupiter will very powerfully aspect transit Saturn and transit Rahu in
Libra sign.
Gurmeet Singh Astrologer
SCORPION CHARATCTER:
Scorpios have extremely important work to do in life, so I suppose it's only fair to indulge them for being so reservedand solitary. It's not easy being the most powerful sign in the Zodiac. All that potential is a tremendous responsibility. The contributions Scorpio makes, generation after generation, to the progress of humankind are undeniable ... andcrucially important. Scorpio has tremendous access to vision and wisdom and a natural talent for using fundamentalcreative power to build new structures and make changes to the existing arrangements of life that result inimprovements of amazing worth.
Remember that word "improvement." It's the theme of what Scorpios are here to accomplish. And therein is the keyto how Scorpios and their contributions fit into the ongoing creative cycle of development. Scorpio is concerned withmutual assets, community property, joint resources, investments, "unearned income" such as inheritances anddividends -- in other words, holdings and wealth shared and controlled in partnerships with other people.
Scorpio exists to form and implement visions of greater possibilities, to join forces with others and build -- accordingto its own design -- structures, assets and associations that yield greater results for the community than eithercontributor could accomplish on his own. Scorpio takes raw materials ... and from that fundamental creative energy, itfashions miracles. It is an awesome power. The other side of the coin, however, rarely produces so many nice smilesand nods of approval, because the unavoidable truth that Scorpio understands so well is that for birth to occur, andnew life to flourish, death must come to what is old, useless, obsolete, ineffective, outmoded and exhausted.
Death and birth are two halves of the same circle. One cannot ... cannot ... exist without the other. And this is the true
and awesome abstract work that Scorpio facilitates, the manifestation of this theme of death and rebirth, destructionand resurrection -- in the name of "improvement." Clearly, this is an energy to use wisely. It has tremendous potentialfor disastrous abuse and irreversible injury. And just as clearly, there is a definite connection between this sad fact oflife ... and the famous private, mysterious, dark side of the Scorpio character.
Scorpios are people of deep passions and unprecedented "sensitivity" -- as that word applies to contact with one'sown emotional landscape. But there is a necessary ruthlessness to their characters as well, a willful insistence onhaving their own way where their lives, visions, and destinies are concerned. It's a quality that simply must be part ofthe basic energy charged with handling the essential but highly precarious tasks that go with this stage of life and theunfolding of creative evolution.
The potential for karmic consequence, both positive and negative, exists at every turn, and hangs on many of thechoices Scorpios face throughout their lives. This kind of power is obviously never given to a soul who lacks thebasic wherewithal to use it properly. And the subliminal message it broadcasts constantly accounts for the awe inwhich Scorpio as a sign is traditionally held. People remember, relate to, and respect Scorpio's involvement withsexual power, potency, and desire. That certainly is the "dimestore book" description of what Scorpio is all about. Butthat is just one facet of this abstract principle -- and an incomplete, sensationalized one at that. The whole picturedeals with "creation from nothing but the raw materials of mutual resources."

That is the process through which sex as an instinct and an act ... ultimately creates the profound wonder of new life. And this is Scorpio's gift -- and privilege: to be the alchemist whose original vision and the will to see it exist in realityushers "improvement" and "new expressions of life" into the material world. It deserves tremendous respect. It is not, however, an occupation that makes for charming dinner table conversation. These literal "life and death" issues arenot for the squeamish or the overly sentimental. Scorpio has a renowned contempt for weakness, inefficiency, nostalgia, and "tradition." And so the discretion and secrecy surrounding the work it does ... remains.
Rather than deal with the hysteria and objections of signs that would hinder the "progress" it is mandated to construct-- Scorpio energy labors quietly, often out of sight, until the necessary "revisions" are ready to unveil ... and, with that, life is forever changed -- as surely as a new birth alters forever the structure of the family into which it comes.
Scorpios are resourceful, judgmental people ... qualities that befit them as the "artists" who work in these vital media. The often destructive and painful quality of the work they do -- on and for themselves as well as in the outside world -- results in the infamous solitary personality that is not easily known. They are controlling and possessive -- for theyfrequently feel driven to achieve their goals to the point of obsession. And they are capable of great endurance oncethey set their minds to an accomplishment.
They are willful people with intense emotions ... as interested in self -improvement as in changing and refiningconditions in the outside world. They are dynamic and profound in their personal expressions -- players in the gameof life where the stakes can be very, very important. Scorpios are "all or nothing" people. They do nothing halfway.
They do not deal in trivialities ... and are known for implementing "extreme solutions" ... sometimes when mildermeasures just might accomplish the task at hand. Their rationale is: They can't afford the time and inconvenienceinvolved with failure. They aim for what they are sure will work.
They possess an energy built for dealing with fundamental transformation, and the upheaval, crisis, emergency, and"rebuilding" such changes inevitably bring. They understand the nature of life at a deep, instinctive level ... as it isonly one of the mysteries they work to unravel. In fact, they love solving mysteries and tracking down answers tosecrets. They take on all manner of necessary and esoteric research. They do believe knowledge is power -- andthey crave the possession. They are natural spies ... and natural psychotherapists. They understand humanmotivation -- as a result of seeking to understand themselves.
They often undergo several substantial personality changes during one lifetime ... as if they are packing theexperiences of several lives into the space of one. They embody the energy that brings about necessaryimprovement and progress in the world. They are most assuredly a force to be reckoned with ... and respected.

ABOUT SCORPIANS: scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac, and that shouldn't be taken lightly -- nor
should Scorpios! Those born under this sign are dead serious in their mission to learn about others.
There's no fluff or chatter for Scorpios, either; these folks will zero in on the essential questions,
gleaning the secrets that lie within. Scorpios concern themselves with beginnings and endings, and are
unafraid of either; they also travel in a world that is black and white and has little use for gray. The
curiosity of Scorpios is immeasurable, which may be why they are such adept investigators. These folkslove to probe and know how to get to the bottom of things. The fact that they have a keen sense of
intuition certainly helps.
The Scorpion symbolizes Scorpio, and that is no accident. Much like the Scorpion would rather kill itself
than be killed, those born under this sign are in ultimate control of their destiny. It is life on the
Scorpion's terms, too, since these folks promote their agenda (they are quite the executives) and see to
it that things go forward. Others may find this overbearing (it can be) and even self-destructive, but
that's the beauty of the Scorpio: they have tremendous regenerative powers, much like the literal
Scorpion can lose its tail and promptly grow a new one. Fearless Scorpios rarely lose; they just keep on
going, since they are stubborn and determined to succeed (this Scorpio trait is in keeping with the Fixed
Quality assigned to this sign). Scorpios work as hard as they do so they can someday sit back and feel
satisfied with themselves. These folks are intense, passionate and filled with desire. They're also

complex and secretive, so don't expect to get much out of them, lest they become suspicious and exit
stage left. It's best not to bet against Scorpios, either, since these folks are surprisingly resourceful.
Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars was the God of War in ancient Roman mythology and is the
first (and most ancient) ruler of Scorpio. When Pluto was discovered in the 20th century, it was also
assigned to this sign. Pluto was known as the God of the Underworld in ancient Roman times, so when
coupled with Mars, expect some intense energy to head toward Scorpions here on Earth. This planetary
combo makes for people who are motivated, penetrating and aware. Scorpions don't miss much, since
they are highly attuned to the vibrations of others. They are intuitive, probing and very focused on
knowing who's who and what's what. Scorpios can lose their temper (and even become vengeful) when
someone gets in their way, so it's best to give them plenty of room. Remember, they're unafraid, and a
loss today simply means an opportunity for victory tomorrow.
The Element associated with Scorpio is Water. As opposed to the 'roiling seas' seen in other Water
Signs, a better motto for Scorpios would be 'still waters run deep.' Those born under this sign are asemotional as their waterborne brethren, it's just that they're not as likely to show it. The Scorpio's
emotions are repressed, kept under cover. Again, these are secrets to be used another day. That said,
be aware that these folks are clever, perceptive and always in the mix. Their ability to see into things
can sometimes be a curse for Scorpios, however, since they can take an insignificant matter and turn it
into a huge slight. Beware the Scorpio who feels crossed! These folks can turn vindictive in no time flat.
Luckily, once Scorpios catch their breath, they will return to their usual determined and loyal (albeit
strong-willed) ways. Finally, while Scorpios aren't above some subtle manipulation to get what they
want, they'd much rather take a scientific, even mystical path. The Scorpio-born are powerful and
passionate, qualities that serve them well, as long as they don't let them deteriorate into self-
indulgence or compulsion.
Scorpios love competition in both work and play, which is why they'll air it out in sports and games.
Extreme sports are right up Scorpio's alley, as is most anything that will test their mettle. They've got to
have an adversary, since it makes the game that much more fun. Scorpio's colors? Powerful red and
serious black. When it comes to love, though, Scorpios soften up a bit and are caring and devoted with
their lovers, even if they do hold on a bit tight. Scorpios are also lusty in the extreme (how else?), so
they need to be mindful of their reproductive organs.
The great strength of the Scorpio-born is in their determination, passion and motivation. Scorpios don't
know the word quit, which is why they usually get the job done. A powerhouse? Like no other.

When people hear the mention of the sign Scorpio, many of them gasp! Still others are belied by the
mysteriousness of the sign. Many more faces' turn ashen with fear and foreboding! Scorpio has the
reputation of being the most maligned sign of the zodiac. The sign is associated with many of
society's subconscious and forbidden aspects such as night, sex, the occult, and death.
In astrology, Scorpio is the eighth sign and rules the eight house. In numerology, the number eight is
the number of building and destruction. The number eight also represents infinity i.e. death is
nothing but passing into a higher form. The eight house in astrology is associated with sex, death,
rebirth, and managing resources. The two subjects of sex and death were considered in our Judeo-
Christian culture as somewhat mysterious and forbidden. Scorpio has a reputation of being the
sexiest sign in the zodiac. Furthermore, many Scorpios are curious and fascinated by the subjects of
death, the afterlife, and rebirth.
Scorpio has traditionally been ruled by the planet Mars. However, since Pluto has been discovered
in 1930, its qualities of being otherwordly and unseen has been particularly associated with Scorpio.
Pluto is associated with the Roman deity of the same name and the Greek god Hades. Besides
being associated with the underworld and the unseen, Pluto rules transformation, big business,
mining, surgery, and wealth. Pluto is the great renewer and to the extreme, it rules corruption and
the misuse of power.
Scorpio is also the strongest sign in the zodiac physically, emotionally, and psychically. This sign
does not suffer fools gladly and is an automatic detector. Scorpios are the natural detectives of the
zodiac so it is BEST not to use any type of deception, prevarication or falsehood when encountering
them. If you do, the results will NOT be pretty to say the least.
Scorpio has the stamina of 1000 people. There is nothing that a Scorpio will not undergo and/or
withstand to achieve his/her goal. Scorpio is unafraid to go into avenues which would make the
average and more timid ran from fear. Scorpio is not afraid to descend to the ninth circle of Hell if it
means accomplishing his/her desired goal. No avenue is too dark, forbidden, risky, and/or
dangerous to a Scorpio. Scorpio is no lightweight at all. This sign believes in adhering to strictdichotomies-it is ALL or NOTHING! Forget about being in between with this sign.
Scorpio is one of the three water signs in astrology. The water element in astrology represents
creativity, spirituality, and being emotional. Water signs are often instinctual, they use their psychic
to delve into matters and are often correct without using traditional methods of logic. The other two
water signs are Cancer and Pisces. Besides being a water sign, Scorpio is one of the four fixed
signs. Fixed sign people are often resolute in their opinions. They know what they want, desire, and
believe in! Once fixed sign people have formed their opinions, they are not easily swayed. If a
person is foolhardy enough to ATTEMPT to sway them, they are in for a quite unpleasant surprise!

Since Scorpio is a fixed water sign, their emotionality and creativity are very intense. The saying,
"still waters run deep" is very apropos for Scorpios. The average Scorpio believe that there are
many things that should be left unsaid.
Scorpios are fascinated by what many perceive to be unseen and occult. Religions, traditional,
alternative, and metaphysical, are sources of inquiry and fascination to many Scorpios. They know
that the spiritual world is just as real as the physical world. This is the same reason why many are
curious about the metaphysical and occult aspects of life. There is no spiritual area that they are
unafraid to explore!
There are some Scorpios who have the psychic propensity to see beyond the veil. They can see
dimensions which are often hidden and/or closed to the less evolved and/or average person.
Scorpio are drawn to the aspects of life which is considered dark, forbidden, and dangerousaccording to societal standards.
In astrology, Scorpio rules the night. During the period of late October, the days start to become
shorter and the nights longer. The night is gaining an edge over the day. According to folklore, the
night is associated with the dark, hidden, and demonic. People are subconsciously afraid of the
night because the night represented that which is often unseen and forbidden! There is less traffic in
the night than there is in daylight. Many people, especially women and the old, are warned not to go
out at night, particularly alone, because it is a dangerous time.
The night is also associated with the rise of predators, both human and other lifeforms. There are
metaphoric and mythological stories about vampires and other creatures that go bump in the night.
The night is often considered a dangerous time for many reasons. I remember my maternal cousin
telling me a scary tale as a child about the midnight spook. According to him, the midnight spook
comes from the beyond at midnight and takes your soul! I was eight at the time and this tale scared
me to death! So the night has sooo many dark surprises!
Halloween is a Scorpionic holiday. During this time, people try to outdo each other wearing the most
outlandish and/or scariest costumes. Halloween is a holiday which has often dark and scary origins
which I will elaborate here! Halloween is considered the darkest and scariest holiday around- it is
quite apt that it occurs during the time of Scorpio!
Scorpio is associated with many scary and venomous animals especially the scorpion, spider, many
forms of insects, and reptiles, especially snakes. The snake is an animal closely associated with the
sign. The snake is often an unobtrusive animal; however, it can become testy and bite if it is
bothered. The snake is also greatly feared because of its forbidden presence and shape in addition
to being quite lethal!

Scorpio are quite known for their taking umbrage when they have been dealt an injustice. Their
vengeance is not sudden. The Scorpionic brand of vengeance can often be prolonged and
deliciously venomous! Let the bastards wait is their motto! I will take my sweet and lovely time to
exact the proper justice! The poor instigator will never know what occur as the justice exacted as
proverbially as stinging as a venomous bite!
Since Scorpio is a sign of extremes, they are highly evolved and hellish, demonic Scorpios. The
highly evolved Scorpios have an extremely high spiritual consciousness. These Scorpios do not
believe that crushing their opponents but practice forgiving and letting go. They believe that there is
no point in practicing revenge and being petty. They maintain that they were put on this Earth to
achieve the highest level of spiritual consciousness that they can achieve in this lifetime. They are
also strict practitioners of karma- any act committed will come back to you sevenfold whether it is
good or bad.
Then there is the unevolved, hellish, and demonic Scorpio. This Scorpio is quintessentially evil in the
strictest definition of the word. They can be classified as sociopaths. They refuse to adhere to the
concept of right and wrong. They believe that the pleasure and act justify what ever means
necessary. They also can be quite manipulative and refuse to take any responsibility for any type of
wrong doing and if they happen to hurt any one in the process. Many metaphysicians and New Age
spiritualists would call these types of Scorpios, dark entities. Dark entities are people who have no
moral consciousness regarding right and wrong. They believe in doing what they want and are
completely unconcerned if anyone is hurt and/or harmed in the process!
Most Scorpios are fortunately quite evolved individuals. They are strong people who either are
devoted to you or they leave you completely alone. There is nothing lukewarm about the Scorpio
persona. What you see is what you get with this person! There is no pretense about Scorpio!
In summation, Scorpio is the darkest sign of the zodiac. Scorpio represents the elements which is
considered taboo and/or forbidden in this society such as the issues of sex and death. Scorpio
represents which is hidden and unseen in our psyches. Scorpio represents our subconscious andour unconscious longings. In essence, Scorpio represents which is truly dark and fierce within our
collective psyches!

56. Temporary Relationships
- The Graha, posited in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, or the 12th from another, becomes a
mutual friend. There is enmity otherwise. (This applies to a given Janm Kundalee)
57-58. Compound Relationship- Should two Grahas be naturally and temporarily friendly, they become extremelyfriendly. Friendship on one count and neutrality on another count make themfriendly. Enmity on one count combined with affinity on the other turns intoequality. Enmity and neutralship cause only enmity. Should there be enmity in bothmanners, extreme enmity is obtained. The Jyotishee should consider these anddeclare horoscopic effects accordingly.
59-60. Ratio of Effects- A Graha in exaltation gives fully good effects, while in
Mooltrikona it is bereft of its auspicious effects by one fourth. It is half beneficial in itsown Bhaav. Its beneficence is one fourth in a friendly Raashi. In an equal's Raashi one
eighth of auspicious disposition is useful. The good effects are nil in debilitation, or
enemy's camp. Inauspicious effects are quite reverse with reference to what is stated.
[Phal Deepikaa, Ch. 2]
23. Planets are mutually friendly for the time being when they occupy the 2nd,3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 12th houses from one another. (This means that planetsoccupying the 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th from one another are mutually
inimical). After taking into account the natural friendship and enmity, it should bededuced whether they are friendly, very friendly, neutral, inimical and very
inimical to one another.
35. Mercury, Saturn and Venus are the friends of Raahu and Ketu. Mars is neutral to
them. The rest are enemies.
Permanent & Temporary Relationships Among Planets
Each Graha is related to another Graha in a particular manner: it can be a friendly, aneutral or a unfriendly relationship. There are permanent (constant) relationships and
temporary relationships among Graha.
If two Grahas are Yuti with each other (in wide, close or exact conjunction) it isimportant if they are mutual friends, mutually neutral or mutual enemies.
Explanation of Natural/Permanent Relationship
Natural relationships among planets are defined in BPHS 3 as follows:
55. Natural Relationships- Note the Raashi, which are the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th and 12th from the MoolTrikon of a Graha. The Graha ruling such Raashi are its friends, apart from the

Lord of its exaltation Raashi. Lords other than these are its enemies. If a Grahabecomes its friend as well, as its enemy (on account of the said two computations) ,then it is neutral, or equal."
The Mool-trikon of a Graha: Mool Trikon is the root of a graha's energy in thezodiac, the sign - exactly a part within a particular Raashi - to whom a Graha ismost closely connected with.
Mool Trikon are:The Sun: 0-20 LeoMoon: 3-30 Taurus (!)Mars: 0-12 AriesMercury: 15-20 VirgoJupiter: 0-10 Sagittarius
Venus: 0-15 LibraSaturn: 0-20 AquariusRaahu: GeminiKetu: Sagittarius
Note: Avasthaa of a planet in his Mool Trikon is called 'Sukhit'.
Note: Raahu's Mool Trikon is in my view 640'-20 Gemini, Aardraa Nakshatra,Ketu's Mool Trikon in 0-1320' Sagittarius, Mool Nakshatra.Uranus's, Neptune's and Pluto's Mool Trikon are the same as Mercury's, Venus'and Mars' Mool Trikon, respectively.
Constant/Permanent Relationship Among Grahas is derived fromMoolatrikona position as explained in BPHS.THE SUN/SOORYApermanent friends: Moon, Mars, Jupiterneutral: Mercurypermanent enemies: Venus, Saturn

Explanation of Temporary Relationships:Planets in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 12th, 11th, 10th from a Graha are temporary friends.Planets in all other Bhavas (including in same Bhava!) are temporary enemies.
The compound/combined relationship among two planets is derived from summingup permanent and temporary relationships, leading to different types of Avasthaa:
permanent friend + temporary friend = great friend (Pramudit Avasthaa)permanent neutral + temporary friend = friend (Shaant Avasthaa)permanent friend + temporary enemy = neutral (Deen Avasthaa)permanent neutral + temporary enemy = enemy (Dukhit Avasthaa)permanent enemy + temporary enemy = great enemy (Khal Avasthaa)
