• 1988: Creation of the AEHT in the Hotel and Tourism School of Strasbourg-Illkirch
• 1989: The AEHT gets the status of an NGO from The Council of Europe

STRUCTURE of the AEHT
• GENERAL ASSEMBLY
• meeting once a year
• discusses and informs about the activities
• controls the accounting
• votes the budgets
EXECUTIVE BOARD
executes the decision of the AEHT-GA
is composed of one representative of each member country
elects a President and 5 Vice-Presidents
appoints a General Secretary and a Treasurer
all members have access to the reports of the Board meetings
MANAGING COMMITTEE
Is in charge of the everyday tasks of the AEHT
The members are:
The President, the Vice-Presidents,
the General Secretary and the Treasurer
The statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the AEHT determine the tasks and responsibilities of the members of the Executive Board and the Managing Committee

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE AEHT
Promoting a European spirit
between Hotel- and Tourism Schools
SUB-OBJECTIVES
To serve as a communication Centre for Hotel and Tourism Schools in Europe
to circulate information about hotel and tourism education and training in the European countries
to favour students and teachers exchanges
to create tight links between the schools and enterprises
to put together teaching methods, pedagogical
material, knowledge and know-how
SPECIAL FEATURES
• The AEHT includes in its activities all the actors of the educational system:
– Headmasters
– Teachers and, above all
– STUDENTS
• offers to its members a variety of activities to give satisfaction to every group
