The Tennessee Conference Fellowship of LocalPastors and Associate Members exists to providemutual support for its members for the sake of the life and mission of the United MethodistChurch. One of the purposes of the Fellowship isto provide for regular gatherings of local pastorsand associate members for continuing formationin relationship to Jesus Christ through suchexperiences as Bible study, study of issues facingthe church and society, and theologicalexploration in vocational identity and leadership.We also strive to encourage local pastors incontinued study beyond the Course of Study; todevelop a bond of unity and common

commitment to the mission and ministry of TheUnited Methodist Church and the annualconference; and to enable the creation of relationships that allow mutual support andtrust.

The Fellowship consists of all local pastors andassociate members (under appointment andretired) of the Tennessee Annual Conference.More information may be obtained by visitingthe Fellowships website at http://

Dr. Lew Parks is Professor of Theology, Ministry, and Congregational Development at Wesley Theological Seminary inWashington, DC where he alsodirects the doctor of ministry

program.

Before being called to Wesley in1998; he served United Methodistchurches of all sizes throughout thecentral Pennsylvania area and was adistrict superintendent of a townand country district. He co-authoredDucking Spears, Dancing Madly

(2004) with Bruce Birch and wrotePreaching in the Small MembershipChurch (2009).

In recent years he has been workingwith lay and clergy leaders of smallchurches across the country. Dr.Parks is married to Peggy. They havetwo children and six grandchildren.
